30g is quite a bit, all of these cars should be around 10-16g

Soooo sexy.

k.. back to honest opinions.

She should just get the G35 or else she will regret.
If she crashes it, let it be a good lesson for her to improve her driving.

Plus it's japanese, so it wouldn't cost her a vagina to fix things

lol a stupid window motor which goes every 2-3 years on g35's cost $550

they're not super cheap to maintain. gas consumption isn't great,

but as to her driving a RWD as a first car. you can't really get into much oversteering trouble with the G35 when the traction control is on. so in the rain she'll be fine.

but i vote Honda Accord Coupe. either 6th gen or 8th gen.

but if she's deadset on the Tiburon or the Celica i'd probably go for the Tiburon, the V6 auto.

I will have her look at the integras and rsx seems like something she might like. She is very optimistic about her driving and her new car. She intend to keep the car for a looooong time hench why she wants to start with a new car.

The backup camera is not a must, she only found out there is such gadget because my ride come with one stock. I told her I learn to park the old fashion way with mirrors and common sense and also that backup camera is not 100% reliable and can distort distance depending on the weather condition, she understands but think it will be good to have "just in case". Unless she get the g35 or 370(it's getting less and less likely) the camera won't be an option anywyas, I will teach her how to park properly and let her learn before installing it for her if she still wants it

Practicality wise she will only use the car to get to school and to my house sing k etc, so big trunk and backseat is not necessary. If she does need to move shit i drive a suv so it's covered.
Keep the suggestion comming, appreciate this you guys have suggest many cars I have miss out

I know it's a slightly older thread, but here's my two cents on this...

She wants to keep the car for a long time, right? So obviously she's looking into the far future with owning a car. However, and don't take this the wrong way, if she's going to rely on you to move stuff for her, that might be a bad idea. Who knows if you two will still be together in 6 months, 2 years, or 5 years. As great as it is to plan for the future, you can never be too sure what it holds. She shouldn't buy a car with zero cargo room simply because she feels that she wont need it.

As for buying a car, avoid driver aid gadgets like a back up camera. Especially for a new driver, they become a crutch that someone will rely on and when the time comes that they have to drive a car that doesn't have one, or if it breaks, then they're going to have a "bit" of an issue.

The other thing is regardless of if she feels that she doesn't need winter tires, MAKE HER BUY SOME!!! I will guarantee that as a brand new driver she will crash her car while driving in the snow and slush if she only has all seasons on. She could be driving as carefully as humanly possible, but it only takes one other car to skid out of control in front of her for her to react by slamming on the brakes while trying to swerve out of the way. Good freakin' luck avoiding the car with all seasons. At least with winter tires you have a much better chance of maintaining traction and avoiding skidding.

thanks for all the reply guys. i've talk some sense into her about how unpractical a coupe is as a dd, rwd for noob and all that.

I've manage to also change her view that sedans are boring and ugly (keep in mind she is not a car person at all). got her looking at sedans as well. she picked out the celica and the tsx. so yea she just need to get her license than go test drive these cars to make up her mind. Don't think celica or the tsx will come with backup camera or stock so she's going to have to learn.

good idea to run winter tire all the time? lol I'll never do that myeslf but i mean it could work? its not like she is looking for performance during summer or anything save her the hassle of having to find place to store 2 sets of tire make it less of a hassle

No, using normal winter tires during summer is a bad idea. They will be VERY squishy (think marshmallow) and can actually be unsafe due to their steering response being very non-responsive. Also they will wear faster - much faster.

Try the Nokian tires... they are meant to be run year-round but still carry severe snow service certification.

tsx > celica

my first car was a coupe and now i'm in a sedan, so much more convenient with the two extra doors and much more original if the car looks good
