Love the new design. I like how its missing the roof, must be for weight saving reasons.

Is it possible the jaws of life were already used?

Any news on the driver? Looks like it could have potentially been a fatal if it had landed upside down. Pretty stupid considering that stretch of road is fairly straight.

Edit: Found the story

RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - The wind may be to blame for a spectacular crash on Westminster Highway early this afternoon, which left an SUV sitting in a water-filled ditch.

Witnesses say a tree fell across the road near No. 8 Road just as an SUV was driving by. The tree hit the car and it careened into the ditch. Fire crews needed the 'jaws of life' to get the driver and a passenger out. Both appeared to have non life-threatening injuries.

^ This man knows his stuff.

Not only for weight saving reasons, also for lowering the centre of gravity of the vehicle. The owner must be a hard core track racer.

Did it get struck by the lightning last night? Caught fire, and the driver thought the best way to put it out was to drive into the ditch?

From the jaws of life, not from the crash.

Quote:

Two people have been rescued from a Porsche SUV that careened into a wide water-filled roadside ditch on Westminster Highway after a 100-foot tree fell on top of it, just east of No. 8 Road.

The article doesn't mention it but The Province today reported the couple are treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

And yes it was the rescuers that cut the roof on that Cayenne.
