Paint chippings...

My car has a few tiny paint chips on certain edges where the panels seperate on my car. I noticed one where the metal is showing and has slight rust. Clearly this is problem and may become worse later, correct? I assume I have no other choice but to repaint that section of the vehicle soon before it worsens. Or am I wrong? What exactly should I do?

Yeap, they're from highway use. I'm never on the highway but the previous owner was using the vehicle for that purpose.
