2dr vs 4dr insurance

How much of a difference in cost will it be? Anyone have a rough estimate?

ilvtofu 11-15-2009 04:49 PM

Would help if we knew what car you were thinking of

keifun 11-15-2009 05:01 PM

^ yeah that question is quite vague.

Need the car model, where you live, and what you will be using it for...

really?

you can't pick up a phone and call an insurance company?

what do you want next, how much gas is going to cost you?

grow the fuck up.

roastpuff 11-15-2009 05:23 PM

For me it was roughly 400$ difference between Civic Si 4DR and 2DR (2DR more expensive). Will differ depending on driving history/discount for you.

The_AK 11-15-2009 05:57 PM

infinity gizzilion dollars

falcon 11-15-2009 06:22 PM

2 door is always more than 4 door. and it hurts your wallet even more if it's a 2 seater.

My RX7 is $285/mo for full insurance with 2 mil liability with %25 discount. To from work over 15km.

Qmx323 11-15-2009 07:06 PM

yeah it does make an effect.

dude just call the insurance place, i called once and asked them to quote like 8 cars

AVS_Racing 11-15-2009 07:06 PM

more than u can afford pal, 2 doors

taylor192 11-15-2009 07:45 PM

Depends on the underwriter. My car is the same as the sedan with some companies, much more with others.

slickk6o4 11-15-2009 09:49 PM

why does a 07 TL TYPE S cost more than a regular 07 TL for insurance, its like 600 difference -.- (4000 vs 3400)

teaoh 11-15-2009 09:53 PM

type s NOOB!!

you almost had me? you never had me, you never called insurance!

double posting not calling insurance like you should.

mr_chin 11-16-2009 04:07 AM

i went to the insurance to check how much it would cost for a 06 TL and it was 3400 a year... didn't check on 2 door car because i was already planning on a TL.

Now that I saw a 08 accord coupe, i'm having second thought. I feel like asking on RS and I will ask on RS. No rules saying I can't asking stupid obvious questions. Answer it or not is up to you, no need for you to tell me what, how, who I ask.

thumper 11-16-2009 06:52 AM

when i bought my 3dr gti i vaguely recall the icbc agent telling me that the 5dr would have been roughly $200-300 less to insure

I don't think it was a matter of asking a dumb question so much as asking a question without providing any detail. The question was so vague that the answer could range from a couple hundred to thousands of dollars more.

That is why you failed. Not for asking a dumb question but for the lack of detail and common sense.

so far i have $400ish, 200-300, and a hundred to a thousand range.. that's all i needed thanks.

yvrnycracer 11-16-2009 11:08 PM

i know 2 door GTI is more than the 4 door... and then if you compare it to the Jetta GLI the insurance is about half of the GTI... even though its essentially the same car...

there's no rules saying i can't tell you you're asking stupid obvious question on RS either.

funny how this internet works, eh.

hmm you're right, you just like to come to people's post and shit on it. seeing your post history, alot of them, that has no business or any relations to you, are filled with negativity comment/reply.

either you were abused, abandoned or neglected when you were a little boy, or some dude/bitch betrayed your trust in a friendship or relationship.

you need counseling.

that turns into a hatchback vs. sedan issue, not hatch vs. hatch... someone explained to me why the sedan would be cheaper but i can't remember what he said argh...

same thing applies for station wagons. a jetta station wagon is more expensive to insure than a jetta sedan
