WTB: mount for radar detector

I don't know where to put this, so just picked up a passport 9500i need a rearview mirror mount for it. something like this

stem of my mirror is 0.95 inch.

I would order a new one but 80$ for a mount is ridiculous, shipping to canada 20$?

I know this is kind of off topic but the ideal mounting location of a portable radar detector with laser detecton is in the centre bottom of the windshield just above the height of your wipers so the wipers do not obstruct. Thats the ideal location to get best readings for laser.

For cosmetic purposes I can see why this mount is popular though, but yet again sacrafice for purpose.

I was always told the lowest point of your windshield but just above the wiper so the wiper wouldn't obstruct.
But that theory may, be because some of the older laser radars, had the lense on the top of the unit to do 360 degree. Where as this unit I think the lense is only on the front.
