Nah, they're 2 for $100.
They look great on the smart car, not as much glare but also not as bright as the ones on my Z

Bought some HIDS 3 years ago from 03TRD for $270 with install, they've worked great since

so $200 with install for HIDs 3yrs later seems ok id imagine prices in general would have dropped more

I did not know that the ones at crystal mall had no warranty.
I bought mine from tspny.com and they are great quality. Digital hid with 2 year warranty.
Havn't had any problems with them and one of the best kits I'v used. Got 2 kits from them.

for most cars out there u can aim the headlight housing lower so it won't be as blinding. I'm not saying its not blinding, but its a lot better if u aim the housing correctly (to the right and slightly towards the groud)

If you don't get a retrofit into your Yaris, you're going to glare like a motherfucker. and I'm going to hate you, and drive behind you and turn on my highbeams so you know how it feels to be blinded.

Go to powerbulbs.com, check out their wide selection of replacement bulbs and you're set. Free shipping as well, iirc, they are based in the UK / Europe, and I've made a couple purchases from them before with no hassle and free shipping, AND they give you 2 free parking light bulbs.

Their cheap (made in China) ones have no warranty. Their high quality ones, like Philips, Smarteye have 1 year warranty.

shoving the wires into another position, e.g. make it perfectly straight, tuck it into some corner, etc.

EmOne 11-18-2009 09:46 PM

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop sticking shitty 100million K hids in reflector housings.

why not just drive with highbeams on and save yourself some money?

GabAlmighty 11-18-2009 10:04 PM

How do I got about getting HID's if my lighting system uses a sealed low/high beam setup?

benwang 11-18-2009 10:08 PM

because you will get ticket by driving with high beam.
i used to had 6000k hid installed for $150 on my dc2R in SK
works fine and looks good

Buy online from American sites. Local stores do charge quite a bit more. Learned that the hard way.

High beams might get you a ticket...

HIDs can get you a ticket, a tow, a VI...

Edit: oh yeah, and you're far more likely to get a ticket for HIDs, vs. just a warning for high beams.

HID on reflector headlights
5000K, height adjusted to spec (a bit lower than normal halogen)
No blinking, no DRL disable needed, turns on every time even with Mercedes stock wiring.
Plug and play !! But took me more than 1 hour to properly drill the holes, electric tape it, drill, screw, ziptie the ballast.

And still 100% illegal in BC.

Hondaracer 11-19-2009 04:53 PM

just because its pointed lower doesnt mean it's not blinding people..

its the output directly out of the housing that is blinding, not the light itself
