Cant fit my sound card.

I have:

Antec 902
Asus X58 P6T Deluxe V2 Mobo
i7 920
ATi 4890
Auzen X-fi Prelude

So my card takes up a shit ton of space and blocks my PCI slots for my sound card. It's in the first PCI-e slot for 16X since I'm only running one VGA.

I can KINDA squeeze it in, but the fan would have zero space/air to cool the card, and it would only be sucking on the sound card. Of course when I bought my stuff, I didn't realize I would run into this kinda problem.

What should I do?
I dont want "good enough" onboard sound. I want better which is why I bought the card in the first place.

You have to give up something. It's your choice what is least important. Next time don't buy a MB that takes 3 video cards unless you are going to use them. The slots might be better used for something else.

Are you even running speakers that require "better" than onboard sound?

Plus your audio going to the card has to be good, FLAC or 320 for music.

That's the one downside to highend or ever mid-range speakers vs half decent low end stuff, if you've got something with junk audio the half decent speakers pull it off better, mid- to high-end and you can hear how bad it is.

Actually, I'm running the 4890 because I'm waiting for my 5870's to get in. Running 2 in Xfire. Also, the 4890 is TINY compared to the 5870.

And why not run a higher end mobo? Tons of room for upgrades later on without having to switch over to a new board just because I bought a shitty cheap board.

I figured I'm kinda screwed since I can't run it now. Too bad since the Prelude had all the cool features I wanted.

PS: Auzen X-fi Prelude for sale. $130
