Got myself something pretty...

A 1963 Acadian Beaumont Convertible... 1 of 2029 built.
Fully documented 8-10 year old resto...
194ci L6, Powerglide
Manual everything... brakes, steering, top...
5 Lug Pontiac Ralleys.

It ran like a top once the transmission is warmed up, and did nearly 17mpg crusing at 60-65. Just a few small things need to be addressed:

- Gas pedal has gone AWOL... the little nub doesn't feel very weird though.
- Trunk needs a little adjusting.
- Gas gauge doesn't work.
- Ugly rubber floor mats.
- Glove box key cylinder is hooped.
- Driver side turn signal chrome trim is broken.
- Cluster hosing needs to be rechromed, it's rattle canned silver at the moment. Not sure what's correct, but I think it should be chrome.
- Front seat needs new foam, possibly new springs. Both front and rear benches are getting new vinyl, probably the typical Nova stuff.
- Missing cigarette lighter, I hope I have one in my 65 and it's the same as the Acadian version.

Of course, it needs an LS1/4L60e and a new front clip. The stock Nova suspension leaves a little to be desired.

A V8 would have been nice, but the car was expensive enough as is and an original V8 car would have probably been 2-3x the price. It would have gotten an LS1 regardless. The gas gauge isn't all that annoying, just get gas every 150miles and you're good, I'm not going to bother dropping the tank until I do the LS1 swap.

Maybe... The thing with the Nova is I have lots of work I can do without spending on anything other than grinding discs and welding supplies... Already have all of the sheetmetal and primer. Hoping I can have the SS running for about $10k with a 454 and a TH400 with a straight axle up front (60s gasser look). I lost all motivation with it after poking holes in 5 different spots in the frame rail. Going to get the floors fixed up, the new quarters on, and take it to Lejune or somewhere to replace the rails, put in tubs, and cage it.

Nice score Owen. I'm guessing those 13's will be going in storage and something a little shinier and lower profile rubber will be going on eh? Congrats.

EDIT: Oops, already nice wheels on in the first pics. :embarassed:

Hahaha... as much the Pontiac Ralleys have grown on me... they wont even clear 11" brakes and I'm planning on ordering the front clip with 12" brakes.

I'll end up getting these: http://www.cragar.com/ProductView.as...2&bq=%3fc%3d15
or these: http://coyswheel.com/coys-c67.html in machined or bare if Coys can make me a set in 17x7.

I vote the Cragars. Check out American Racing and American Eagle too, I think they make a Cragar style wheel too.
