Give them a peace sign for letting me in or helping me out. But if they are being a jackass, especially when someone doesn't let me merge it's on less finger.

3seriesBeeM 11-23-2009 02:09 PM

I always thank ppl if they let me in or if its down a narrow street and they let me pass. But I never or very rarely get a thanks when I let someone in or let someone pass. Drivers are getting less considerate of everyone.

i do it all the time. I like to flash my hazards twice to thank the guy behind me since my rear windows r tinted

mx555 11-23-2009 02:23 PM

i had a semi flash his rear flood lamps to say thanks. blinded the fuck outta me. good intention none the less.
i usually just do the hazard unless they are in front

are those the lights on the side of the semi that sick out?

maxxxboost 11-23-2009 02:36 PM

Here and there.

AzNightmare 11-23-2009 02:38 PM

I used to do it a lot... but I'm starting to get lazy.

Although it's not mandatory, to me, it's a given driving code that during a construction merge, you let one in, you go, next guy lets one in, then he goes, etc.

It's when either the idiot in front of me lets in 2 cars, or the 2nd guy tries to force into the merge, then that pisses me off.
Or when two cars don't let me merge in.

almost every day

trip 11-23-2009 04:08 PM

always thank but dont receive it enough

winson604 11-23-2009 04:44 PM

I do it all the time. It doesn't take much for me to throw my hand up as a gesture and in turn it does so much more then people think. Like OP said I know if somebody does something stupid to me I get road rage but if they at least acknowledge that they did something stupid and just say my bad with a hand gesture i'm cool with it.

me too

I also do it when traveling on the highway and the traffic suddenly slows down.
Flash the hazards so they get a chance to slow down and not rear end me.

Yeah, Bus drivers do that if you let them cut out. You're supposed to do that anyways. But I have never seen a car do that.

moomooCow 11-23-2009 05:35 PM

I try to do it as much as I can..
-Letting me merge
-Waving me through

All kinds of tiny things as it actually puts me in a better mood when I receive a tiny little hand gesture so I try and do the same!

VK79 11-23-2009 05:35 PM

Whenever its obvious the other person is being nice. e.g. when trying to merge into a busy lane from a petrol station or when he moves over to the side in those narrow lanes where the home owners decide to park on the road instead of using their garage.

trancehead 11-23-2009 05:37 PM

I thank others so when i cut them off i dont feel as much as an asshole

triplexcel 11-23-2009 05:45 PM

its good to see you guys doing that as well. but in the last couple years, i've seen less and less thank-you's by other drivers out there. they just seem to cut you off and don't give a shit.

I don't see very many people do it, but I know my brother does it all the time (as he already said) so I've picked up the habit (not that I'm driving on the streets yet) and I intend to use the habit once I'm driving properly.

I'll have to remember the sudden traffic stop thing, that sounds like a pretty good idea since people in Vancouver have a tendency to not pay attention to anything.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-23-2009 07:58 PM
