ya i read it. from GT planet.. i would say its a pretty fair review..

at this rate our GT5 game data is going to be 30GB by the end of its life cycle..not that i'm complaining about getting constant updates

i gotta say PD is actually gettin their act together... even though i am still updating...

but they listened.. abt people wanting the

-leadership board
-more events (seasonal event)
-"rare" collector car's dealership (even though i think they will charge more than the random used car lot, but at least people dun have to sit thru 6 hours of used car dealership to find the Formula GT)
-being able to restart an event after it finishes... HELLO grinding fans
-adding exp/Cr in online mode... very nice :D
-dmg in pratice mode (hmm, whatev.. i still occasionally crash like no tmrw... so ya.. i like being a "cheat")
-to me the most important is the save data back up.. holy shit lol :D:D:D

now the one other thing that i wanted was rewind an fastfwd in replay mode...
come on PD... haha

rewind should be coming...Kaz said he will definately add in slow-mo

one other thing i would like is to let the car have 3 presets save slots for the transmission/suspention/LSD etc etc wil be nice...

and there is more exp and CR to be won with each event now... =D... great i just did the X1 yesterday haha, whatev.. come on guys... the updated extra exp and CR is a limited time thing...lets all strive for level 40 b4 this shit ends =.=

cant imagine grinding like 3 X 24 hour races to get from level 39 to level 40 =.=

Yah...before the update it would have taken me forever to get the F1 car. Now I was able to get it within a day by doing the seasonal events. So much XP and $

Sound you hear in different views? I play with the front bumper view but really wish i could have that view with the 3rd person exhaust sounds

* Driving Distance and Number of Wins in Online Races: The driving distance and the number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge] will now affect your stats in [Profile] and the [Garage]. Here the results from your online play will cumulate within [GT Life].
* Improved Rewards: The rewards for winning races in both A-Spec and B-Spec in [GT Mode]-[GT Life] have been increased for a limited time only. (This applies until the end of January 2011.) This is a great chance for those who were previously having difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to a lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.
* Race Information Display: It is now possible to set the [Race Info Display] in [Start]-[Quick Options]. (You can also set this in [Race Display] in [Options]).

* User BGM (Menu): From [Options]-[Hardware]-[Audio Settings], it is now possible to set the [User BGM] (Menu)]. (This can also be set from the [Music Library] within [GT Mode]).
* Car Name Change: The official name of “Red Bull X1″ has been changed to the “Red Bull X2010″.
* Integration with the Website: The main features within [GT Mode]-[Community] can now also be accessed through the “gran-turismo.com” official website.

MORE UPDATES:

* The license test menus have been streamlined. After winning a bronze or silver trophy, for example, you have the option to immediately restart the test without having to sit through the animation sequence. (Thanks, Alex.)
* GT Academy USA has now been listed in the new Seasonal Events (I’m writing up a full post on this now).
* Mechanical damage has now been implemented in the game’s “Practice Mode” – the first time the feature has been usable outside of the custom online events.

One interesting thing to note is that today, December 20th, was set to be the launch date of the US GT Academy. However, as of writing there is no mention of this in the latest update, though presumably it may appear in the new “Seasonal Events” later. Stay tuned for more, and thanks to all who sent this in so quickly!

just beat the seasonal Challenger race, came in 4th first time then first 2nd time, 700k in the bank

dropped like 3/4 of that on my new Merci SV though, i just had to buy it :D

So these seasonal events basically if you win first place they're useless after that because you don't gain any money and XP aftwer you've won gold.

I've only won gold in the challenger race and silver on all the others, for some reason the challenger race is super easy I passed the first guy with a lap n half to go, the other races I finish behind the first guy by 5 seconds but I'm gonna remedy that soon as logitech ships me a new steering wheel.

I'm wondering why the time trials or even drift trials don't give you anything, no money no xp at all

I came in 2nd in the CRZ event (behind by 7secs) and 8th in the GT-R event (behind by 41 secs) before heading to bed. The CRZ event looks doable with a stock CRZ, yet I may add the suspension mod to help it corner better, it understeers badly. The GT-R event seems tough for any of the older GT-Rs. You need a lot of downforce to fly through the corners, and only the newest GT-R allows front & rear downforce settings. My GT-R Spec-V had too much HP, so I tried with a modded R33. I guess I need to buy another new Skyline. :D

It's damn hard to get 1st in the seasonal races except for the challenger one. I was 2 seconds behind in the CR-Z event.

you can do some light mods with the crz - light weight reduction (cf hood and glass) and i just upgraded the tranny so it will get up to speed faster
