Can I add idiots with HIDs retrofitted into halogen headlamps to this list?

The halogen reflector/lens was not designed for HID and the beam pattern sucks, it can be blinding.

As for the high beam idiots worried about puddles - drive with 2 hands, then puddles won't rip your hands off the wheel and cause you to crash.

Here is a concept, if they are gonna do DRL why not include the rear lights?

spoon.ek9 11-26-2009 11:42 PM

some retard in a sebring was using his high beams tonight

it's a clear night, no rain, no fog and STILL highbeams while driving on no.2 road.....

You know what I do when I get highbeamed from behind? I wait for the person to pass, and get behind him and turn on my high beams.

not true they are out there... it's only because you can't see them because many don't bother with reflectors or lighting.

Remember that snow/water reflect light. So there's no advantage in the rain or snow. Highbeams will actually impair vision.

Same thing in foggy conditions like this morning.

Most JDM imports have fog lights. I use them. JDM cars ftw. That's public announcement from over9000.

.... why would you possibly need to do that. i mean, i can understand making a bike louder so that people don't cut you off but high beaming w/o cause?

Easy. I only rode when it was sunny out. Using the high beams, imo, made me more visiable to other motorist.

But since it is in the summer on clear bright days, I expect everyone to be wearing shades so my high beams should not be blinding anyone.

hk20000 11-27-2009 11:14 AM

^ bikes don't have DRL?

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-27-2009 11:20 AM

bikes should just get HID

with my last bike (2000 R1) all my lights would come on automatically with ignition on. the oldest bike i've been on was an 84 honda vf750 interceptor and the lights were auto on too, and this was way before DRLs became mandatory on cars. i'm not sure what they are like these days....

RabidRat 11-29-2009 03:17 AM

the current gen civics are the WORST! the four door models especially.

Doing that at night is stupid. High beam on motorcycle during the day, low beam at night. People cant judge the distance and speed with the high beam on at night, so better chance some moron pulls out in front of you and kills you.

*EDIT*

Just read your other post, so this goes to everyone else, you understand.

SumAznGuy 11-29-2009 05:16 PM

I don't want to sound mean or cold blooded, but didn't I say this was gonna happen sooner or later.

Yes, we all know its slightly harder to see the road at night during the last week of heavy downpour. The simple solution to the matter is, DRIVE SLOWER. In the condition it was in last night, I was even afraid to go 100kmh on Hwy 91. There were so much standing water on the road that I could feel the car starting to weave left and right. Having your high beams on WILL NOT stabilize your car any better. It WILL NOT enhance your ability to control your car if anything does happen. It WILL NOT make the rain stop. It WILL NOT make the water on the road in front of you evaporate any faster.

Do you high beaming nutjobs realize that you are actually blinding oncoming drivers, making it harder for them to see the road? They can only see just as well as you can see with low beams. Please do not be a selfish and inconsiderate hazard on the road!

To all RS'ers, please take a look at your cars today, make sure your high beams are not pushed on accidentally. Please also take a look at any other family member's cars too!

Another word of advice, if you have a burnt out headlight, replace the bulb ASAP. This is seriously a "NO SHIT SHERLOCK" advice but you will be surprised how many people would rather use their high beams than spend another 10 bux and 30 mins of their time changing a bulb (unless its HID, then its a little pricier). I have personally seen many many people driving with high beams on just because one of their low beam bulbs have burnt out.

+1 for you. hate high beams at night

It doesn't work...they just look at you with a WTF face if you pass them again
