Ford would go to the top. :) |
Toyota and Honda |
Ford is definately WAY up on the top of the list area. But Still think Mercedes still there. So much great history and cars from luxury to racing throughout that history. |

Nissan? |
Chrysler line-up of muscle cars for the 60's-70's. Ford is also up there. |
I would have to say BMW yea |
i would have to agree with Ford. RS200, model t, ford gt, gt40. |
BMW is pretty high up there, if only my image of it wasn't ruined by fob mainlanders in richmond... Porsche is one of the great brands too, even though I'm not very fond of cars like the 914... But since this thread doesn't matter if they made shitty ones... |

Volkswagen - the beetle anyone? most produced car in history, easy to fix, floats, iconic, movie star, great offroad, hitler's baby spawned Porsche so i include anything great porsche has made as VW responsible for econohatchbacks being sporty and fun with the rabbit/golf GTI vr6 buggatti veyron and its W16 Volkswagen engine aircooled engines |
^Don't forget the iconic hippie vans! or how about quattro? |
it has to be honda, if you think about it what he means by "most", not only have they made some cars that fit many people's needs, but, theres a higher proportion of them on the road, haha |
Honda/Toyota for reliability, fuel economy and affordability. |
ford/gmc/chrysler toyota makes some great cars aswell honda is definatley up there also |
There are plenty of companies out there that have made "great" cars, but I still think that Ford tops the charts. As others have already mentioned, they came out with plenty of groundbreaking cars like the Model T and Mustang, but they were also responsible for other vehicles like the Transit van, the GT40, the F150, the Focus, the Escort and even the T-Bird. You guys may not think these are desirable vehicles, but in their own way they were all very significant to the automotive world. On the other hand, someone like Volkswagen can also be considered for the top spot. Why? Well, first off is the Beetle. It, alongside the Minibus, helped spawn an entire social movement for over a decade. The MK1 GTI was arguable the car that started the entire hot-hatch craze. BMW's only viable claim is the introduction of the M-division, which is essentially throwing a big engine into a smaller car. The only issue with that is Ford and GM were playing that game more than a decade before the original M3 was ever introduced. Toyota... well, asides from the Prius pretty much sparking the fuel savings craze, I can't think of any other vehicle that can put them as a contender. The same goes for Honda. They make some decent, reliable cars... but nothing that has stood out as groundbreaking. Chrysler... The original 80's minivan. 'Nuff said. |
