Chubby Lamb or Little Cattle?

IMHO those 2 are probably the better Hotpot places in Vancouver, but I find them to be quite similar in quality. Helps that they are like only 10 walking steps apart too haha so I can go to either one within a minute!

Which is your personal preference & what differences do you find that you like/dislike about either place?

I plan to go tonight but haven't decided on which spot yet!

cattle is better... lamb feels a bit dirtier

better get ur reso in soon!

Jackygor 11-29-2009 04:04 PM

cattle is more "hip" looking. I ll go with cattle because you get unlimited siu mei

Mr.Jay 11-29-2009 04:21 PM

i like them both

but vhubby lamb has the unlimited pop for a buck so I go there

TRDood 11-29-2009 04:29 PM

cattle.

service is faster.

SumAznGuy 11-29-2009 05:12 PM

I hate the service at Chubby Lamb.

Made a reservation and when I got there, they wanted us to start ordering. We haven't even been seated yet, just standing by the doorway.

As soon as we sat down, they were all over us trying to get us to order. Then they were all over us trying to get us to finish and leave so they can give the table to the next reservation even though we got the table 15 minutes after our reservation time.

ryugeeh 11-29-2009 09:09 PM

Went to chubby lamb yesterday night and it was ok. They kept rushing us to order even though it was 3/8 ppl that was there.

hotong 11-29-2009 09:36 PM

I like chubby lamb the meat is pretty good there.

winson604 11-29-2009 10:38 PM

Chubby Lamb service is horrendous - that woman with the curly hair is kind of a PITA...

I get it, you want quick turnaround times... but holy crap, let our asses warm the chairs first before you start firing rude "YOU ORDER NOW" comments up my asshole.
ffs

TOPEC 11-30-2009 12:58 AM

chubby lamb is better i think. the meat is better, like beef, it has more fat in it, where as cattle, the beef is very lean

Drow 11-30-2009 03:53 AM

anyone try the " You Good " or in canto " yao gwut hey " hotpot in richmond? its in the same mall as Richmond Sushi but its right near the entrance to the mall, if you're entering near yaohan. I always go there... never really been to chubby lamb or little cattle, was wondering if anyone can tell me if its better than You Good

that place not good man, its just "decent"
i only go to that place if lamb is packed and cant get a seat.

and as for the aberdeen one, im not sure if its still the same "four season hotpot?" but the one and only time i went, me and my mom got major diarrhea afterwards, never ever went back, it wasnt even all u can eat back then.

freakshow 11-30-2009 04:33 PM

I usually go to Chubby Lamb. The service isn't great, but it's an AYCE Chinese place.. what do you expect?
It's not as dirty as some of you make it out to be, and their meat seems to be pretty good quality. Don't try to make a reso the day of though..

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-30-2009 07:59 PM

neither, screw those two

i'm a frequent visitor there and i'm not just saying this because they are family friends...but the service is good, it's CLEAN, the food is fresh and i like how they give you a choice in picking your own sauce.

their dimsum in the afternoon is pretty good too but the selection isn't very big. they are still a work in progress (just opened under a year) but they are definitely going up rather than down.

That one isn't AYCE. It's a different league. Then you might as well go to Garden City Hot Pot and get everything fresh.

TOS'd 12-01-2009 12:40 PM

Ive only been to cattle. I found it quite good in terms of variety, quality of food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely go whenever im in richmond.

dachinesedude 12-01-2009 03:04 PM

since chubby lamb has better meat, i go there most of the time, and their chubby lamb soup base is gooood
