Looks like a XM-26 (usually mounted on the bottom of assault rifles but can be used with a pistol grip as a stand-alone weapon) with some attachments. Can't tell for sure without a full-on side look.

It's interesting that he got stabbed.. they are trying to set his character up to be in a weakened state? What for?

The preview showed a lot of semi spoilers.. it'll be interesting to see what happens in the final two hours.. it'll be an end of an era!

In part, it was the writer's strike and also the shit storylines in season 6. However, it's more that 24 is a relic of the past and America's attitudes toward people like Jack and war has changed since the war in Iraq started.

Kiefer was on Leno last week and said that after filming the last episode a bunch of the writers called him into a meeting to go over the movie script.
