the more obvious thing to do is to keep a can of beer in the car (unopened - because that would be illegal) and then if/when you get into an accident, crack the beer open.
i think this sets some bad precedent for people to do the same... especially if they know they're the type to deliberately choosing to drive drunk...

I don't believe you can keep just a can unless it's those big cans that they sell individually at liqour stores. If you have a 6 pack in the car with one gone but the other 5 are unopened it's still considered "opened" I think. I could be wrong here but at the very least that's what an officer told my friend haha.
