As an example, last year I got one for around $15. I had plans on going to the Vancouver Aquarium with my wife and kid (he was free). The coupon was buy 1 get 1 free admission - and an adult admission is $22! Boom - saved $7 right there. Then I went to the Cannery and got a free entree... etc.

How is the aquarium these days. Worth going to? I also used the coupon the Cannery. Saved like. $20.

Apparently the Cannery is going down these days.

I have a few coupon book highlights. There's one for this place Pho place on main, buy one get one free.

Two pho bowls for $7. The Zefferelli's coupon can be used over and over again. My personal favorite is the one for "Portobello Ristorante", on Broadway and Granville. Really nice Italian food, and with the coupon, it's like $9 an entree.

As much as this saves you money. I like buying my books from my younger cousin's even thought they are more $$$ part of that money goes to their school or club or w/e which I will happily support...

Portobello Ristorante is owned by an RS member. I remember him posting up a coupon for us to use last year. :)

Ehh I remember when I was a kid, it was pretty exciting. Now that I'm 30+, I thought there wasn't much to look at. The new 4D theatre isn't anything really new either. Not worth the price of admission, I'm afraid. But if you can get BOGO free, then it's ok I guess.

it's the same every year. Once last years books are expired they drop the price on the new books

I just picked one up. So easy. Makes for a great stocking stuffer.

Thought I'd pass it along, in spirit of the guy who posted the 50% Adidas sale a couple weeks back. Saved me a bundle!

No, I haven't gotten mine yet. 10-14 days I think!

Woah, the Aquarium isn't one of the coupons in the 2010 book!

Edit: Received my book on Dec 21 and the Vancouver Aquarium is in the book.

Shoot, just realized that if you have a Cashbaq account, you could get an extra $6 back, making the cost of your initial book as low as US$13.99 (with free shipping)...

LiquidTurbo 12-08-2009 02:14 PM

What's a cashback account?

Cashbaq is another one of those online sites that "gives you money back" if you shop using the links on their page.

In this case, they have a link to the Entertainment book website from their page. If you use that referral link to buy the book, Cashbaq will deposit $6 in your account. Once a month, if you have $10+ in your cashbaq account, they will either mail you a check, or pay you via Paypal.

Here's their FAQ page: http://www.cashbaq.com/howto.php

One of the questions was:
Quote:

Q. I know I accidentally shopped at another site. Will I still get my Cashbaq earnings?

A. No. We encourage our members to look around for the best deals out there, but cannot stress enough that you must go directly from the Cashbaq to the store you are ordering from. This is the only way we can ensure that you get paid, and the only way for us to know you made that purchase.
I think I signed up for this last year when buying the 2009 Entertainment book - how silly of me to have forgotten!
