apparently if you went thru self-checkout you have to ask them to reduce the gst/pst from the price before you swipe your card.
also, the signs up in the richmond superstore said the No Tax is only valid until 11pm on both days. so it's not really a 48 hr event. just a heads up if you're expecting to buy shit tonight after work like me.

Spent $250 worth including some groceries and household things that should last me for a few months. Overall saved $45 combining the omission of $20 in taxes and receiving the free $25 turkey.
