Vizios are pretty good. Costco automatically upgrades to 2 year warranty, too.
I`m running a 37" Vizio 1080P LCD that I picked up on my way back from California (in Portland, so as to avoid taxes and enviro fees). I've been using it since August, and it's great, to be honest. No ghosting/lagging in games, great colour, etc.
Definitely worth checking out or considering, given the price you can have them for.
The 37" Vizio isn't much more, at Costco. What are your plans, that limit you to 32"?

imo bestbuy/futureshop is great for buying tv's
they have good selection, plus they will price match + 10% of the difference
and you get a 30-day returns + price guarantee.
can't ask for much else lol

With a TV that size you'd have to be sitting within a few feet from the screen to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. I think if you can find a good 720p 32" somewhere you could save a bit of money and have more selection. That being said however a 1080p TV will likely be better in other specs as well (contrast ratio, refresh etc.).

If you are looking for Sony's South Van on Main street has pretty good pricing. And they will try their best to price match. They do carry Samsung as well.
I ended up getting my Samsung at Bestbuy though. At the time they had the best price and was in stock.

Don't wait, just buy now, and if you get a better price @ Boxing day, they'll match that back.Just buy on credit.
I just picked up from FS.ca the 52" Z series Sony for 1799. 240hz refresh rate

all i really know is lcd is better for gaming | LED, right now, is only used for the backlighting. It is a bit better, but not a true LED TV.
The most important difference (IMO) between LCD and Plasma, is that the Plasma has to have a sheet of glass over the front layer, so if you have any big windows or lots of light in the room, go LCD. If it's going to be in a dedicated media room/in a basement or something, then it's a bit more open.

^^^ Same. I usually know what I want, usually head to BB cause I can price match easier cause it won't hit their commission. And I don't have to have a 15 minute conversation about warranties. Quote:

im on digital atm, i think | means that you can't just hook up an SD signal and expect it to turn into HD. You'll need an HD package from Shaw if you expect to watch any TV in HD.
Also, to everyone: With a digital signal, cable is cable. It either works or it doesn't order your cables online or pick them up from a smaller store, don't buy them from FS as FS has a huge markup on cables. Superstore should have 6ft HDMI cables for $10, they work great.
