Thank god after Tuesday it's rain and the temps go way up so tomorrow into Tuesday morning could be the worst we see here in Vancouver. I feel for the people living in Fraser Valley.

You guys need to learn how to read METAR/TAFs that are more reliable given by air traffic controllers every hour.

you don't have to be a douche and post up the METAR/TAF information. If your going to post it up use plain language. Most people on RS don't speak aviation.

Plus weather data is provided by Environment Canada for Nav Canada, which is updated every hour.

yeah, cause reading the METAR/FAF is common sense or something we learn from frds, fam members or school!

and because the general public needs up-to-minute weather forecast for their daily routines:rolleyes:

kristianhay 12-13-2009 09:18 PM

It's lightly snowing in Richmond again.

ivanz 12-13-2009 09:27 PM

Just came back from SFU. When I was going up there someone in a huge ass SUV with summer tires was sliding back down the hill near the bottom of the parking lots. I had to throw it in reverse to avoid them hitting me. Then some douchebag comes up behind me and starts honking to move foreward...lol

Then on the way down some guy in a Camry was doing 110+ from the lots to the intersection with the road covered in slush/snow.

Gotta love the "i'll ignore the snow and pretend it is a hot summer day" driving method lots of people use.

Was snowing a bit on the way, but nothing major.

spoon.ek9 12-13-2009 09:29 PM

^ people here fail at driving in the rain, snow is 10000x worse for those type of drivers.

JSALES 12-13-2009 09:53 PM

my car was sliding in the snow going downhill with a car in front of me earlier, had to swerve to the side to hit the curb

and it's only about 1cm of snow?
must be REAL icy
holy shit

spoon.ek9 12-13-2009 10:03 PM

all the snow that melted on my car quickly turned into ice. i'm sure there's tons of black ice on the streets tonight.

Ch28 12-13-2009 10:31 PM

this is why i hate snow

snow melts = water + freezing temps = ice + useless drivers = accidents everywhere

cold just watching that

Alatar 12-13-2009 11:22 PM

Coldest I've been in was -40C, -50C with windchill. That was daytime, too.

Coldest night-time was -44C but no windchill.

It's an interesting sensation, breathing in through your nose, and your nose freezes shut.

GabAlmighty 12-13-2009 11:32 PM

Two bags of sand check, rwd check, snow tires check, more control when i slide check. Already been out for a couple runs. Gonna be fun

Don't be ignorant, if you can read it then it's much more informative than what you get from "theweathernetwork" and what not.

And the most recent dewpoint for that metar was 1C

JSALES 12-13-2009 11:44 PM

i'd like to experience -40C + sometime just to see how cold it really is, never experienced that kind of cold before

You can actually get the translated METAR on the navcanada website in "plain" language. Here's the link:
