Video Card Recommendation

I have a P4 2.8ghz with a gig of ram. Im currently running a Nvidia Gforce 6600 GT.

Im planning on upgrading the ram and getting a new video card.

Any recommendations ? I just want to be able to play CoD 4 haha.

I was looking at the AMD FirePro V7300, do you guys think that would be sufficient ?

I was able to play CoD 4 on high details at 1680x1050 with a 7950GT and Athlon 64 3200+.

What's your budget anyway?

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

For $200 you can get a 4890 or a 5770 (4890 is slightly better but the 5770 has newer technology - dx11, open cl 3.1 and less power consumption). Or if you want to go the nvidia route get the gtx 260 core 216 which is about the same cost but not quite as good as a 4890 especially if you're willing to try overclocking a bit.

EDIT: missed the post where he said it was AGP.

The selection for AGP cards now is pretty limited, but it seems like most options are within your budget:

do you guys think these video card options coupled with an increase in ram would render CoD within my computers domain of operability?

An HD 3850 + a RAM increase should get you low-medium settings (leaning towards low because of your slow CPU) ...

I would either invest more and buy a new computer for around $700-$1200 or buy an XBOX 360 ($200)/PS3 ($300) and continue to use your old computer.

A 5-year-old PC like yours isn't going to do too well for gaming, even w/ a GPU and RAM upgrade.

+1 for Jmac's comment.. if you're only doing your video card and ram on a smallish budget.. i wouldn't bother.
