Advice to new snowboarders out there.

If you're tired and or waiting for other people to catch up to you.....

Do us all a favor and pull over to the side of a run, and whatever you do.....

Don't sit on the other side of a roller where an upcoming person can't see you till it's too late.

If those three people that I almost collided with are members of Revscene, I apologize for giving you that tidal wave of snow but I didn't see you guys till it was too late.

It was +5 or so temp, water soaked snow, slow if you didn't have the right wax, but the conditions are great and forgiving. I worry though that the freezing level will drop and all that moisture sopping snow will turn to ICE.

Also don't sit beside your friends and make a chain that takes up the whole width of the runs

Went up for some night boarding yesterday at Cypress. Snow wasn't spectacular, but it was decent enough to rip down the mountain. There were barely any people there at all. People still managed to scatter themselves all over the mountain and create a maze for you. Seriously, pull over to one side if you are sitting down, where you are visible!

isn't that just common sense so you don't take a board to the back of the head

Its just like forgetting to shoulder check before you change lanes.

We are all guilty of it, but by the time it's too late something happens.

There are 10 rules that are usually posted on lift towers that skiiers and riders should read. Most mountains have taken them down, but whistler is one of the few that keeps them up on the towers......

http://www.alpski.co.uk/The%2010%20R...i%20Safety.htm

and in case you didn't know a "piste" is the name given to a marked ski run or path down a mountain for snow skiing, snowboarding, and is a term more often used in europe.
