Exclamation Windows Security Alert Virus ?!?!

does any one else have this virus? i dont know how i got it but all of a sudden i got a pop up from the lower right saying "windows security alert" and some fake virus scan appears, and other pop ups saying random exes. fail to run cuz its infected. ive tired updating avg, and virus scanning in safe mod but it doesn't work. right now im using msconfig, to set all unnecessary programs to not open on start up, that seems to stop the virus from poping up. does any one know a way to completely remove it??

try to narrow down the process that stops the virus from loading (isolate). (usually an EXE file)
then google that process for a solution.

Or enable the virus, reboot and try one of the many free online scanners available to see if they can pick it up. If they can't solve it, you atleast know the name of the virus and can google for solutions.

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

and if all else fails, then reformat.

the fault is in Adobe Acrobat. update to the latest ver 8. i got hit 3 times this month. cleaned and it kept coming back, didnt know why, but i noticed acrobat would start just before hand.

i used malwarebytes andspybot to get rid of it. hope it stays away now.

of course go into safe mode before running scans

fuckers....

pornhub.com is infected by the way

Get those a lot at work... here's what works for me

-Boot safe mode
-Use msconfig to disable all startup programs
-Boot normally
-Install Microsoft Security Essentials along with Windows Defender
-Update def files and scan
-Go into IE settings and disable the proxy
