As a person that had two pc laptops and a mac, I'd say get the mac. I had an asus and a Dell xps laptop and ended up selling both when I got my MacBook. I run parallels to run any pc software, which only is Adobe framemaker because adobe is trying to get people to
move to indesign, and everything else is on my mac. I have several iPods and the iPhone, and the integration with them and the mac os much cleaner than when I was using them with my pc desktop. Even unlocking and jailbreaking my iPhone was easier. I've convinced at least 4 people to try the mac platform and they've ended up liking and staying with it. Mind you these people have modest to average needs like torrenting movies and doing work/school related things. And the peopple that I've convinced to go mac, I don't have to support their machines - no helping them format or explaining why something isn't working.
