666 is good in Cantonese. 111 would be one of the worst ones to Chinese people. Right up there with 164/444

I thought 888 is the best number combo for Chinese? I currently got 111 and 222 plates on my cars, I've seen quite a few cars lately with triple # plates.

I really want a 750 plate for my 750. There's a black 750 which I believe belongs to one of the BMW dealers that has the 750 plate.

Does anyone have a licence plate with "333"? A triple threat? A buddy of mine said it could mean the driver has good driving skills, drives a nice car, and maybe, just maybe, has a hot girlfriend, wife.

I just told him "At the end of the day, it's just a number."

A driver can have a licence plate "888" and drive a beater.

to be honest, lots of agents hold the triples for friends and family only. unless.
after plates go to the surrendered plates department, they get recycled.
however because if you dont cancel your plates, u get to keep them after expiry; icbc cant reuse the letters again. hence why it used to be xxx 000 and now 000 xxx. They had to switch it around because they ran out of numbers. U will NEVER get a 000 OOO plate because there arnt any O allowed, its too confusing. a lot of times 1 and I dont get put out often too.

In addition to "O", these letters are not used also:

I Q U Y Z

For those who maybe interested in reading about how our license plate system works, history, variety, etc. Here are some good links:

This is incorrect, they use all the numbers, they do not use all the letters.

The guy above me has the ones they do not use correctly.

The other thing thats interesting, however fairly obvious, you cannot use custom plates to create a regular plates pattern.

For example I was going to do 123 ABC in personalized plates but was told I can't.

I've got a 666 xxx, I'd love to get my hands on 185 TRD though. Better still would be 185 WRC.

Yup, for those looking for car name letters, I called a few places last week and only RSX and NSX for now. They are not new either, just leftovers with crappy numbers.
