The Jabra BT5020 is on sale at Dell.ca

$19.99 from $69.99. Is this one any good?

Just read the review at CNET... although the looks are not the best, but seems like it's very comfortable, comparable to Jawbone performance and best value (presently on-sale at BEST BUY for $80 versus $150)

I think I might have to get me one of these... Hmmmm

I used a Jabra BT160 for years. Lightweight and no-nonsense. Works great. Switched to the Jabra BT8010 even though it's heavier, but I like the gimmicky OLED screen and the second earpiece attachment that converts it into a pair of BT headphones. :p

damn BB was out of the WEP500 and the bh105.... :(

Jawbone prime. Since it has a newer version of noise assassin.

I don't have that particular one, but I have the Jabra BT250 (super old unit from like 3-4 years ago). However, the design is similar. The biggest minus of that particular design - if you wear glasses (or sunglasses for that matter) the part that loops over your ear is going to get in the way. Either your glasses will be crooked, or you'll have to take your glasses off to remove the headset. Annoying - and not something I noticed until I actually put on my sunglasses.

I got this:

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...52C%2B4-Pc.jsp

Most people think I sound like I'm scuba diving while talking but they will get the message usually without much trouble. It went to $14.99 at one point at Canadian tire.

the big minus is that the charging system does not support an in-car charging function.

The around-the-ear piece can be taken away and replaced with an in-ear support rubber also supplied in the package. There is a tiny bit of idling noise (i.e. noise when it's not in use) but you can't hear it if you are driving anyway. Also the LED is unfashionably ultra bright just to tell people how much of a douchebag you look like with it.

I would rate it a 3/5 with 1 point from the price point itself. The charging is okay but that's if you rest it on a table and just don't touch it ever...

not a headset, but i'm using this:

LG Bluetooth Solar Car Kit (HFB-500)

Pretty good so far. Its clear and charges itself.

Plantronics 925.

Great comfort fit.
Very good microphone even with my exhaust + sound system.
Ridiculously light
Simple to use

AFAIK the JB2 only comes in black. Gotta move up to the JB Prime to get colors.

That sounds pretty awesome, how is the sound quality for music? And how well do they fit in your ear? ( You're asian right? hah ) I was reading a review

Sound quality is beautiful. They fit well on my ear, but the fact that the main piece (can be switched to left or right ears) is so heavy really hurts its rep. I'm Asian, yes, and as a single BT headset it sits comfortably. Want my two cents? Get something else that's newer. This thing is too ugly and thick hahahaah :lol

Oh yeah, most reviews don't mention that when you convert them to headphones and wear them, you look like some sort of mentally-handicapped, leprosy-stricken Borg, if there's such a thing. :haha:

racerman88 01-04-2010 08:04 PM

If you have a newer car, most of them have a handsfree link that you can pair your phone to

Hmm okok thanks :haha:

any ideas on the Voyager 855's?

Eclypz 01-05-2010 11:09 PM

I ordered a Plantronics 975.
All the reviews I've read are stellar. I just hope the noise and wind cancellation are as good as the reviews say.
I drive a convertible, so good noise and wind cancellation is important to me. The only downside to the 975 is the price :(

It was either this or the Jawbone Prime, but I just can't stand the look of of the Prime, and apparently battery life leaves much to be desired.
