Mega Tsunami - 5 Years Later

There's a 1 hr documentary on TLC right now compiling various stories and clips regarding the tsunami off Indonesia/Thailand in 2004. 5 years later, the videos are just as chilling and horrific. Have a watch and remember. RIP

there was a rerun last night at 2AM on TLC. so far I haven't seen any future reruns on local listings. you guys might just have to look for it in torrents. it'll be worth the download.

saw parts the other day...chick was talking about how she lost her daughter to the waves and stuff..scary.

i always thought tsunamis come at you like one ginormous wave that floods everything, but from what i saw in the videos, it looks more like persistant flooding, rather than one giant wave. Def. scary stuff either way

I watched part of it... crazy stuff... approx 100,000+ people died?

That was Indonesia but possibility of something like this happening on the west coast with the "big quake", pretty scary.

tsunami wavex can be huge. like 10 stories tall and move almost 300 kms/hr.

this one seemed mild. regardless you can see how fast the water rose when it hit that hotel. the bottom floor was submerged in like 15 seconds. no way you're outrunning that.

christ, i remember that morning so vividly. i was dropping my sis off at the airport and heading home, thinking i should stop off at the RCMD NCIX to check out the Xing day sale.

then the news coems on and says a monster ATsunami Hit Indonesia 4000 dead. 30 min later an estimated 10-15,000 dead. then by the end of the week almost 200,000 including the injured and sickness caused by aftermath.

so incredibly sad.
