No sound on TV from laptop HDMI

Hey everyone

When I hook up my latop to HDTV via HDMI cable I get picture but no sound. I set my default sound device to HDMI and restart the programs I need and it still doesn't work.

It was working last night when I let my fam watch hd rips of tv shows off my laptop. I asked my 12yo bro to shut down my computer when they finished so I think he may have done something improperly or something so when I tried watching stuff on the TV today and no sound .

TIA
