Placement of Bipole 5.1 surrond speakers?

i am using these energey cr100's for my rears,
http://www.energy-speakers.com/na-en...r100-overview/

and tho i want to mount them on my side walls i have a closet door on the right side where that one would go...UNLESS i break the rule and mount it vertically instead of flat horizontally i can then fit it in between the door frame and the back wall.

Side question, How high roughly should they be placed?

_______
I....T....I
I..........I
I....W...I
I..........I
I....T....I
I______I

instead of this
_____________
I...................I
I..T.....W....T..I
I____________I

(T=tweeter W=woofer)

will flipping the speaker that way change its effect much?
the left rear would be about 4-5 feet away from my head, and the right rear would be about 3.5-4 feet away(receiver has mic calibration)

This is all in a small bedroom, with the couch as far back to the wall as possible and a window above it.

the only other way i can think of doing this is speaker stands, which i feel would be less attractive to look at but if flipping the speaker like that would change the sound noticeably then i can make that sacrifice.

Ideally you want the speakers to sideways, not standing lengthwise. Depending how "trained" your ears are, you may not even notice any difference.

As for placement:

In a perfect room you would have everything near ear level. Might be hard to do in a bed room.

ive got mine all slightly higher than ear level but thats only because the recliners block the sound if your sitting down in them

i cant do ear level for the front stage due to the fact that wall is taken up with the projector screen, so i had to put them above the screen pointing down,
im not sure what ill do about the rear speaker if i will mount it side ways or not, but you summed up my thoughts about the idea quite well. thank you.
