VANCOUVER (NEWS1130): A Vancouver Police officer with over 20 years service has been charged with assault with a weapon. VPD have confirmed the charges against Sergeant Darcy Taylor, stemming from an on-duty incident August 23 on Broadway near Yew.

Vancouver Police say Taylor had been called after a report of a fight on West Broadway, and immediately called for back-up. A month later a complaint was filed by a man saying he had been struck with a baton for no reason.

Vancouver Police say Taylor is on paid leave.

I imagine it must have been pretty blatant with witness reports backing the complaint etc for it to result in an actual charge

I wonder if the media will overexagerate their antagonism towards the vpd...

funny how this guy gets treated the same way as the officers who robbed and beat the shit out of a minority outside a downtown hotel
