VANCOUVER (NEWS1130): A Vancouver Police officer with over 20 years service has been charged with assault with a weapon. VPD have confirmed the charges against Sergeant Darcy Taylor, stemming from an on-duty incident August 23 on Broadway near Yew.
Vancouver Police say Taylor had been called after a report of a fight on West Broadway, and immediately called for back-up. A month later a complaint was filed by a man saying he had been struck with a baton for no reason.
Vancouver Police say Taylor is on paid leave.

I imagine it must have been pretty blatant with witness reports backing the complaint etc for it to result in an actual charge
