Winter blast sends oil prices back to 2008 levels; gasoline prices also climbing

06/01/2010 1:35:00 PM

Mark Williams, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Snow, ice and wind wreaked havoc on energy markets Wednesday, where a barrel of oil topped US$83 a barrel for the first time since the fall of 2008. Natural gas futures soared six per cent.

Their percentage profit is less than most tech companies.

taylor192 01-06-2010 11:59 AM

My equity funds/stocks are up. I don't mind paying $200/yr more for gas if my investment portfolio returns $10K.

6insomnia9 01-06-2010 12:17 PM

Yeah when i saw 109... i was like holy shit so fast..

Greenstoner 01-06-2010 12:21 PM

i filled up yesterday at 107.9 and i was pissed. I see today went up to 110 and i was happy.

EmOne 01-06-2010 12:42 PM

i remembered filling up at the chevron on 1st and nanaimo 87reg was 29.95cents, and that was the lowest i ever seen. Filling up was like 10-20bucks

Euro7r 01-06-2010 12:54 PM

Here we go again. Gas gonna hit like $1.50 again in the summer time, FML!

This should be the least of your concerns. Pray to wutever God u believe in that the OPEC keep using USD for oil prices. If they ever switch to something else, good luck finding gas @ 1.10/L. We'll be paying Europe prices.

Vale46Rossi 01-06-2010 01:30 PM

gas price so expensive now.....

godwin 01-06-2010 01:52 PM

Daily gas prices fluctuate during rush hours.. It is a given. I think the intra day range is about +/- 5 cents.

Since borders are open 24 hours, just go down and fill up with gas.

alex.w *// 01-06-2010 04:33 PM

when oil prices raise overnight, gas prices immediately raise overnight
when oil prices fall - it takes weeks for the gas prices to drop

bullshit

ToneCapone 01-06-2010 05:35 PM

fuck i bet its all price fixing.

cdizzle_996 01-06-2010 05:35 PM
