Laptop's hd capabilities?

Hey guys, I just picked up a new laptop yesterday.
What are the capabilities, if any, of my laptop when it comes to HD?

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
16:9 Aspect 15.6" HD LCD Screen
No "Blu-ray" or HD DVD drive/player

I assume from looking that it's capable of running average quality 720p from downloads which is basically all I'm looking for. I'm not going to waste my time downloading a 5gb movie though if it doesnt work. Also, if I download a "blu-ray" torrent (1080p) will my computer simply downgrade the rez to 720 or will it practically ignore the high def if it isnt 720?

Obviously a bit of a newbie here so any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You'll be able to play 1080p with ease. If you're going to hook it up to your television and it's 1080p, I'd download it in that format. Otherwise just go 720p since it'd be a waste of space and bandwidth.

1080p is never a waste of space or bandwidth even if you're screen is smaller, because one day, you will get a bigger screen!!!!!
