yeah i'm pretty sure nobody is realizing that

it pretty much balances out. one day of work could buy you at least a ticket to disney.

Well, first off no one is telling you to take a day off of work to go volunteer to earn a ticket. Well, if you're a salary employee, go for it. You're not paid a hourly wage to show up.

2nd, I don't believe they are expecting to convince a lot individual to volunteer who only value getting a free pass to disneyland. The target is probably those who just need another incentive to volunteer. To push them just enough to go over the edge to help a cause they feel needs help. How many of those will be claiming the ticket, who knows. Disney probably has an estimate.

My workplace is a non-profit and we are participating in this. Volunteers sign up and once they are done their time with us as required we confirm their volunteer time. It will not run out of tickets if you are registered to volunteer and the organization wants you to volunteer with them Disney Parks will reserve you a voucher.

Keep in mind that although the promotion is called give a day get a day some places are requiring volunteers to be involved for more than a day depending on the project. Also you may apply but the company still does all the screening and if you don't meet their requirements you gotta keep looking.

Like someone mentioned above it is more of an reward for people who want to volunteer already.

More info can be found on the Disney Parks website:

i'm just saying that it isn't too out of the world that they're giving away free tickets in exchange for a day of volunteer work
