Wow, scary. The last time I saw a player convulse like that on the ice was when Perezhogin swung his stick at Garrett Staffords head.

Love how Cormier gets away with it in the World Jrs just because he's wearing a Canadian sweater but people are outraged when he does it again in the Q.

there is no place in hockey for head shots like that. this guy should be banned from every league and never play again. He was intending to injure that guy WTF. At least with the Bertuzzi thing he was trying to injure him that bad he was trying to get him to fight this guy was just out there trying to kill this guy

I'm having a tough time choosing. | I just watched Bertuzzi's incident and it looks like a half-assed gloved punch to the back of a head, with helmet. Most of Moore's injuries likely resulted from the dogpile afterwards.
Here, we have two players skating at a decent speed, with a hard elbow pad to the face. I think this one's worse.
I don't care who he plays for, Cormier doesn't appear to have any respect for other players and should be banned.

This is where Don Cherry has a point everytime he rants about equipment. Change pads back to soft material not hard plastic, players will think twice about throwing an elbow or shoulder cause they'll be injured as well.

I'm pretty sure karma will catch up to this guy one day. Maybe it might be during the Olympics when someone would rather go to prison in Canada over going back to their own country.. lol

Cormier is the crud that resides on my balls when I don't bathe for weeks. Hockey is our greatest passion in this nation and we got fucks like him giving it a dirty name. Right next to my crusty balls.

the guy Corimer hit already passed the puck... although by the time he let the puck go i guess you could argue corimer didnt have the time to stop.. but still....push the guy not elbow him in the face (which is obviously Corimers favourite tactic)

Seriously, this kid needs a serious reality check. Like a 5 year ban from the sport + criminal charges. If he really wanted to hit the guy, why not man up and throw the gloves off instead of being a fucking weasel with this crap?
And, mickz, while yes, I'm sure there are a handful of idiots that approve of this behaviour when it coming from their bench, the majority of hockey fans can appreciate a bullshit-free game from both sides. You saw how many of us were embarrassed by that moron with the green laser.
BTW who's that other moron I saw a few days ago that made that hit, mid-ice, where he actually took a leap to hit the guy? Vid?

^ My bad. got caught up watching a different vid. That vid was Dec 20.
Anyway, here's the new news: http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2...riello_no.html Quote:
Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said Monday he does not anticipate a season-long suspension for top prospect Patrice Cormier in the wake of the forward's elbow to the head of Quebec Remparts opponent Mikael Tam Sunday.
Tam went into convulsions and was taken to hospital after the hit, which occurred in Quebec's 3-2 shootout victory over Cormier's Rouyn-Noranda club. Tam is listed in stable condition.....

I'm having a tough time choosing. | This is easy... Cormier's hit was dirtier... this hit was pointless.
Moore is a fag and Bertuzzi gave him what he deserved. He tried to injure our best player, karma for him.

The Swede was just skating with Cormier going off the ice. Disgrace to Canada and should be stripped of the C first thing atleast.

If you've ever fallen backwards landing elbow, you'd understand why protection has progressed from soft padding to hard padding. Hockey sticks are much more lethal potential weapons, but just like elbow padding, one just has to trust that the people you'll be playing against won't be reckless with their equipment. Quote:

Fighting doesn't belong in hockey but it's just there for entertainment value. Nothing more.
Does Phaneuff ever change the way he plays? Does Steve Ott, Matt Cooke, Sean Avery? No. There will always be a $500,000 to $1,000,000 fighters on their team to answer the bell in their places so that they can continue to do what it is they do.
People should really stop hiding their bloodlust under the guise of chivalry.

you're wrong man, Phaneuff is there for special teams and to play the trap, Cook and Avery are there as grinders for the 4th line, guys who can slow play down so the scoring line can rest, now I'm not defending Avery, I don't like or agree with him at all. There are very few legitimate fighters left in the league guys like Scott Parker, Laraque, Brashear all see next to no play time. the days of Wendel Clark, bob Probert, Tie Domi and McSorley died along with neutral zone holding and stick checking. Now you get less physical policing of elbows and high sticking from guys who normally wouldn't play physical hockey. Back in the days of Wendel Clark guys like Patrice Cormier would never think of throwing elbows like these because they would get their ass kicked. the NHL is run by people who all have played some level of Pro hockey and they understand the importance of physical play. kids need to be taught at ALL AGES how to play physical hockey respectfully so when their emotions are running high they are hard wired to NOT act out physically like this. Remember that the NHL is run by hockey players who fully understand what it means to be playing the game, not arm chair athletes who think they know best.

Maybe we can introduce fighting to all physical sports at all age levels, then we could solve our issues by fighting it out!
I understand that fighting is part of the game, I'm just saying it shouldn't be.
