Hot Oven Pizza and Pasta: Loaded pan pizza in North Burnaby

Hot Oven Pizza and Pasta

Found this place on Hastings St and tried it out. They make a deeper pan pizza and add more toppings than most pizza joints around here. Each pizza came loaded with lots of mozzarella cheese but they didn't turn out greasy and left me wanting to eat more. The crust was soft and bread like which I prefer over a hard crust. The Pineapple Express with pineapple and ham was my favourite, while The Carnivore with salami, italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, and bacon was decent.

This is my new favourite pizza joint in North Burnaby. I used to frequent Viva Sue Pizza on Canada Way, but in comparison I find it greasy and after eating I feel a little sick. Hot Oven seems expensive but I could only eat 2-3 slices of a medium pizza since its so deep and covered in toppings. FYI buy 2 pizzas same size, second is 25% off.

I don't doubt that it's good... but at that price, it had better be.

Even with the 25% discount off the second pizzas, two large specialty pies will come out to be $41.13 plus tax.

I guess I'm too used to getting $1.25 per slice pizza downtown. :(

IMO, those cheap slice pizza taste like cardboard. And they have very little toppings.

Then you haven't been to the right places.

Uncle Fatih's, 2001 Flavors, FM Classic, Numero Uno, Megabite... all under two bucks a slice and more than enough toppings and non-cardboard texture.

Da Mario's or Domenico's? There's two across the street from Hot Oven. What have you eaten there? My girlfriend saw the place and loves spaghetti tomato sauce/bolognese. I was wondering if its any good.

ShadowBun 01-19-2010 05:02 PM

what size are these?

Champions is next to tsui hangs, on granville and davie. They renovated inside and seem to be serving liquor.

Romano's is next to roxy burger, (granville and nelson)

best schwarma is the one next to celebraties (davie and burrard)

Megabyte is ok, but i hate going in there, because i hate seeing people that were just inside the club.

goo3 01-20-2010 12:34 AM

best schwarma is babylon cafe!
