suspious "free" package- anyone else getting this?
 

today i saw this small piece of paper taped on my door. is like really cheaply done (white paper cutted by hand, really shitty looking fonts)

it says "Please call regarding package we have on hold for you" "Item is fragile"

call 1877 2592-825

at first, i thought it was some local carrier ... so i called and it turns out to be some guy saying "oh we have a free 7 piece utensil kit for you, will you be home in the next hour so a representative can send to you?"

i was like WTF... so i hanged up.

Anyone else got this? I tried googling the number but not much clues.

oh wtf, i got this too... i did find it odd that no one attempted to ring the door bell, which is common practice by couriers. i guess it's a scam then!

Sounds like sketch. I hope you didn't call from your house. When's the last time anyone had an incoming package they didn't know about? :D

nope, i used my cell.

they did however have this "DEL . Co#).... they asked me for it and then stupid enough of me, i said the one on the paper... there were like "oh , so will you be home from 8:10-8:30 for a rep to send to you?"

that was a big wtf and i said no..

humm, better get my knifes and bats ready ....

lol, i just used my cell to call the number you provided..

some guy picks it up " (City Y??) Kevin speaking, how can i help you"

i said i got a note said i missed a package and he asked me for house addy. i just told him 1141 robson LOL

He said he is got a gift set for me. i just hang up

it was like city wide inc. or something...

i called again, and asked if i could pick it up instead , they said not possible.

Tell em you're going away for vaction. Stay indoors and install automated turrets outside. Video tape. Post on RS. Profit.

not to mention the alarm.

My alarm went off in my house the other day (parents thought I was gone but I was just sleeping). I set it off while walking to the shitter, I didn't get up. My dump was more important.

I did that at my girlfriend's place once. She went off o work while I slept in and she accidentally armed the house. Woke up to go use the washroom and immediately found myself needing to clean the floor under me when I tripped the motion sensor. FML. :(

Can u take a picture of that note and post it for us to see?

i actually didn't bother reading this until i posted the pic. it DOES state it's intent is to gain business lol. it's still a sneaky way of going about it though, totally misleading.

where do you guys live? just want the general area, dont need to post your exact door number lol.
