and if he doesn't document delivery to the person will paypal side with her if he does she has no recourse he's at greater risk with a money order.... as i've said above; money orders are how Nigerians run their scams and he'll have no recourse but be in debt to his bank |

The only reason why she's going out of her way to buy your car at the asked price is that she just wants to suck your cock! |

the customer can do a reversal or it could be a stolen paypal account or just a pure scam ie knows she will do a reversal later but keep your car. if she has $2600 in her paypal account but no bank account or other form of sending money, then that is fishy. if she didn't confirm her credit card or bank account with paypal, there is a monthly sending limit of $500. doesn't matter about your 'terms and agreements' that you print out etc. paypal frankly doesn't care. AND if you have a brand new paypal account (less than 6 months old) or deviate from your regular 'activities' ie all of a sudden receive $1000+, they will limit your account and it can take weeks if not longer to arrive... so... cash in person only |
SO there is many loopholes through paypal in which I can get screwed..which was my question. Thanks guys I appreciate it :) |
rofl, your post is so vague. What car are you selling? And did you do it through craigslist? If so craigslist has big warnings at the top when selling anything that it should always be LOCAL. |

yup, doesn't matter if you have proper "terms and agreemnts", tracking number, proof of delivery, credit card company will side with the buyer, and you'll be out. |
-your car's not special -who goes through the trouble of buying overseas, shipping, inspecting, registering an average, everyday car? -Paypal accts. get hacked all the time --I only use Escrow services for high dollar overseas transactions -fake overseas money orders can take over a month to be discovered, even if you've already cashed them in, you'll be screwed -guaranteed if you sold it to her, she would then get you to do a bunch of other shit --ie. overpay, then get you to send money back, get you to deal with the shipper, etc. etc. For a $2500 car I would only do cash up front, face to face. |
scam, nuff said |
It is a scam for sure. You actually think you'll get the money after you give your PayPal address? They aren't that stupid. If you give them your PayPal address, I guarantee that they will send a follow up email asking for a few more details before they can 'transfer the payment'. |

actually it was not an overseas transaction, she is from vancouver (apparently) but works for the navy and spends lots of time ON the seas, while running a personal business buying and reselling cars...kind of even more bull shittier lol no shipping involved either she had a "Pick-up" agent haha |
Its a scam... i get these types of emails from ebay too although they can use the buy it now button... |

You offered 2400 but she insisted giving u 2600... seriously? either shes is retarded are your getting scammed son. |
There are two varieties of posters in this thread; idiots and pussies. Sell the car. Take payment via paypal. Scan government ID of person picking up car. Tada you're done. moron. |
Don't forget Paypal can reverse the charges even if the payment had gone through eg credit card charge backs. If they used a stolen credit card, guess who's left holding the bag a few months later with a negative balance? |
Seriously if you still think this is going to work just give up... my friend's friend just got scammed in the same scenario... Paypal always favours the buyers so if the buyer disputes you'll be going through lots of trouble Quote:
