Introducing: Better Video Support!
 

The way we were embedding Youtube before worked fine, but was quite a hog on the server (every time you loaded a page with a video on it, it would have to rewrite the entire embed code)

Plus, it only supported Youtube, and a couple others that nobody cares about.

I have installed a better system that will be easier on the server. More importantly though, this new system supports WAY MORE video sites:

To embed a video from any of these sites, simply paste the URL into your message. The rest will be done automatically.

The only drawback to this is that posts that already have Youtube links in them will revert back to normal links. I can update them to the new format, but it would take a loooooooooong time due to the massive amounts of posts it would have to go through. If you guys make enough noise, I might go through with the update anyway. But if I do, the site will have to be down for the better part of a day. Let me know how you feel about that.

If you have posted a video already, you can update it simply by clicking "edit" then "save"

Also, it will no longer try to embed videos into RS Mobile. Instead, you will be given a link to view the video directly from the host site.

I think the first thing I'll do is manually update the NoobAsItGets and Jeffield video posts ;)

Yeah that's by design, so pages don't get spammed with requotes of videos.
