I'm all for flush fitment but when done to such an extreme its stupid. Whats to far? The stupid impractical DANGEROUS tire stretch. Half an inch less lip would garner a very similar look and be far more useful. And for bag haters if done right they ride great and way more usable then coilovers. Slammed coilovers are just as stupid and impractical as over stretched rubber. |

Looks Hawt! I want to see some rolling shots. |
More interested in what's under the tarps and in the garages. |
Rolled fenders dont count as a body mod anymore. It's pretty commonplace with almost anything RWD/AWD and even FWD. And those fenders aren't pulled. Those flares are stock on the GS. Quote:
This car wasn't made for performance. It was made to be a big middle finger to conventional style. It's Bippu (VIP) style. Reliability? Anything more than an intake/exhaust reduces reliability. Lowly lowering springs on stock shocks kill suspension reliability. K&N Filters kills air flow sensors when oiled too much. Exhausts are impractical for daily use. It's loud and disturbs your average person while they drive. It's cop bait, and it alone has spawned fartcans and whistletips worldwide. Intakes and Exhausts are a safety hazard too. You could scare that little old lady walking across the street and have her fall into the middle of the road. This is why I said you guys missed the point. Modding cars are impractical and a waste of money. We push whatever part we can afford to the limit to make more power or to stand out. Intakes make more power, and make loud noises. Exhausts make more power and make loud noises. Suspension parts make the car handle better, but loses it's daily driveability. Tinted windows are dangerous because they hinder sight. Aftermarket HIDs blind traffic in front of you. It's a stupid point to bring up, because what it all boils down to in the end is that we're all modifiying our cars. Some like it, some hate it. The general population thinks it retarded and it's against the law, but that's not gonna stop you from doing SOMETHING with your car. Your car is a reflection of your personal style. Cheap people buy cheap rims, and buy knockoff improperly valved coilovers. Cheap fake bodykits, fartcans, random hood scoops, and cone filters without the piping. But it's rice, so it's okay. Import fanbois buy overpriced JDM parts for a premium that are dime a dozen in Japan. But it's JDM so it's okay. OMG SPOON. GTR fanbois think anything GT-R badged or has the name SKYLINE in it is god. But it's a GTR, so it's okay. Domestic guys think anything with a V8 and Flowmasters/Magnaflows doing a burnout is wicked sick. But it's a domestic, so it's okay. Because all the import fanbois say that it only goes fast in a straight line, right? Etc etc. If everything made sense according to your post, you shouldn't be on Revscene since it represents everything you hate. We should all just drive stock cars and Revscene shouldn't have ever existed. Remember, when you joined people were posting about weekly street racing meets behind Minam Racing and sharing stories of what happened when the cops came. But please do glue a turtle to your head and post the pic here. |
i gotta disagree, look at the shot with the GS from the rear quarter panel and ull see the edge has been flared. he's pulled it to fit the wheels, most likely because he couldnt get any more camber out. the next step would have been to actually get fender flares =/ http://fatlace.com/hellaflush/wp-con...22-570x380.jpg |

actually mine pokes out a little and sits flush at +18. +15 is the max i can go at the current camber settings. though running with mad -5 or more camber looks nice, its not practical. mine can sit lower, but that would mean never parking underground ever again, something im not willing to give up. i doubt the owner of that GS drives that low, the reason for going on bags is so that you can SIT that low when parked so it looks good. then when you need to drive, you can raise it back up. suspension travel on the GS is pretty liberal so i cant see him, at his current set up, driving around my height, without the rim edge banging on the fender. His fenders actually sit on the rim/tire when parked. Totally different story when he drives of course. |
isn't the bottom line this is just another one of the few different ways of modifying your car, you got guys who mod for performance and you got guys who modify for looks, and you got guys who try to combine the best of both, so WTF is there to argue really ? You're basically arguing against a style of modification, and everyone has their preference, guys into performance will always hate on this Bippu style, but the same way performance guys saying this car is dangerous to drive is the same way I can go into a thread with a race car/performance like setup and say it looks butt ugly, with all the stickers and obnoxious aero and bodykit components. Each car serves it's own separate purpose so neither argument hold any merit, you just got your preferences at the end of the day. Because your Performance guy knows he's giving up looks and sexiness when he guts his interior and stickers up his exterior, and your Bippu guy knows he's sacrificing performance for gangster looks, it's that simple. my personal preference, I actually don't care for bagging a car, unless you're super low and you need the ability to raise your car to get into places, this is perfect fitment IMO, just on coilovers. perfect fitment http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/image...50z.photo5.jpg perfect ride height http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...e/100_1492.jpg and here's an example of something neither side can argue because you got the best of both worlds, aggressive and flush yet no tire and camber abuse which = lots of performance http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3290/...97949a9b_o.jpg |
^ wow the s2k has a perfect setup |
S2k needs a side shot and an above fender shot to have a "perfect" setup |
!SG: Get a 25mm spacer for the front, then talk fitment. |

gotta fix my fender liner first before going that much offset. Quote:

I don't think there will ever be perfect "flush" fitment and performance, it'll be one or the other. Unless someone can prove me wrong. |

I don't have any info on this particular S2K, and yea it looks like he may have problems in the front, the rear looks ok though. And I'm not trynna be a dick and prove you wrong but, I think I'm about too in this post, heh :D here is a G35 I'm very familiar with, the guy is an offset guru from our G forum, this guy can track this thing without problems and it looks great, credit card fitment between the rubber and fender, plenty of rubber, yet he's in the negative offset zone, and if this isn't the best of both worlds, then I don't know what is :D Quote:
|
^haha if that's the case I guess I stand corrected. He must have the magic touch, I'm no where near his fitment and I scrub. I love the flush look but it'll destroy my fenders. |

^ stretched tires is NOT performance |
edit: Was going to put up Supra pictures, but realized it wasn't flush enough, still had gap |
