Anime recommendations

I'm leaving for Japan on Sunday, and I want to get some anime series for my wife. I did some searching, and it looks like every show features scantily clad little girls as the main characters (just looking at non-adult torrent sites)

She really liked Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Death Note.. Do you guys have any more recommendations of series that are already complete that she can watch? Something along those lines - cool stories, interesting characters, etc. Some perversion is of course expected, but shouldn't be the main point of the show

i agree, gurren laggan is great
love hina is a great light romantic comedy storyline
beck is a awesome anime about the development of a band with great music
k-on is like beck except more teeny bopper music and all girls
one piece and naruto for comedic action adventure types of anime

I really enjoyed Higashi No Eden (Eden of the East)

Because Death Note is her thing, I'm thinking she'd really like Code Geass. It's a mecha anime, but has more emphasis on plot than action. I've watched a thousand, but this is all I can offer for now. There are way too many to recommend.

code geass is an amazing anime. like neggo said, code geass has a great plot similar to the style of death note.

my all time fave sport anime is hajime no ippo (boxing).

If she doesn't mind gore, Elfen Lied was great. Also I really liked Blood the Last Vampire.

Hi guys, she LOVED the Tsubasa Chronicles series. Do you know of any that are like that? She enjoys the fantasy genre with epic adventures. This and Inuyasha were her favourites I think.

If she liked Tsubasa Chronicles, try watching the first two episodes of Kobato; very fantasy like and the drawings are very similar, production by Clamp.

Other fantasy-like genres include Clannad, Kanon, AIR, and the newly Angel Beats, all Key productions. Not much 'action', but Angel Beats got guns and weapons. lol.

Highly recommend "Law Of Ueki". It has been completed already with 2 seasons with a total of 51 episodes. Interesting story and they literally fight in like every episode which is dope. Not much story dragging like some other animes. They released a new one called "Law Of Ueki Plus" I think but so far it's only in manga form and no anime yet.

One Piece is long and still on going but it's pretty sweet id say.

Phantom ~ Requiem for the phantom
- excellent series, recommended to anyone interested in anime.
Samurai Champloo
- very pop culture in certain ways.
Nana
- one of my personal favorites just because im a drama/romance fag.
Clannad series
- if you want something that will touch you, and perhaps cry like a fountain.
Kimi Ni Todoke
- if you want something that makes you smile, and lightens your day. ps, not comedy.
Ef-a tales of memories
- interesting art, and interaction between different characters.
Paradise Kiss
- quite a story involving glamor.... imo

Anime Movies:
5cm per second
- beautiful animation, quite generic storyline, but engaging
Beyond the Clouds the promised place.
- same as above, beautiful animation.
The Girl who leapt through time
- Interesting story, tbh im a little confused about this one....but very good watch
Summer Wars
- much like the digimon movie =)

Enjoy.
ps, i have many more recommendations if u like what i put up, feel free to pm.
