Massage Chairs Sooo My mom tried my aunts massage chair out and now she wants one So, i was looking at getting her one but I have NO CLUE on what to look for in one? Which is a good brand? More motors the better? air bags or rollers? etc etc etc Anyone have any clue? Im assuming its a safe pick to go with Panasonic, but im wondering if there's anything better or just as good out there? Like this Inada Sogno brand (it looks pretty cool like its straight outta a japanese cartoon), and there's this place in Langley that looks like they assemble their own.. They seem to be pricey so id like to make sure i dont get one thats going to fall apart or end up hurting my mom so any help would be appreciated, and im not even sure which forum this would fit best in but i figure this would get the most views :D |
osim massage chair is really comfortable too!!but pricey aswell,i think you should go to aberdeen, they have store that sells massage chair |
yeah i guess the best thing would be to try the chairs out and see, but id like to get an idea too so im prepared that anime looking one i mentioned looks like this http://www.unplggd.com/uimages/unplg...dasogno_01.jpg ;) i just found out its like $7k -_- edit: i just checked out that OSIM brand u mentioned.... geeez they look more Anime like ! http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/imag...SIM-uSpace.jpg wth is that! |

Friend has an Osim one. I'm sure you can find a dealer. Like buddy said, that store @ Aberdeen ground floor. |
that's this place which sells lot of massage chairs made in Taiwan, located on Alderbridge and Cambie, right next to Speedy Autoglass I think ... |
If you have extended health, might be better to just go to massage therapist. |

My parents actually just bought a Panasonic one for 3,600 It's quite good and comfortable, the strength of the massage is highly customizable too. One thing I hate about it though is how the control panel is a remote rather than a pad on a stand. |
Massage bed is where it's at. Massage chairs don't really do much. You need a massage bed to do that deep tissue massage that u get from a masseuse |
wow crazy price tag |

There's a store called "高登健康生活館" that sells them. They have a store in Crystal mall and on Alderbridge way west of No.3 Road. |
I think homesense sells massage chairs. i go sit in them once in a while someone needs to invent a massage chair with a happy ending option. whoever builds it will make billions. i call patent on this idea. if you build it, they will come. |
Homesense is overpriced. A typical massage chair cost anywhere from 4-15K. Osim chairs are basically rebranded INADA chairs. :) The first picture you showed is also the Osim "uDream" currently sold in Asian markets only. It will make it's way to Canada very soon and will cost 9k. The uSpace is a very old massage chair, the globe thing has speakers in it :D. Oh and one more thing. Massage chairs aren't really good investments. You'll probably use it alot when you first buy it, but then after a few weeks you'll slowly stop using it. It's true with a lot of families. |
my mom got a OSIM iSymphonic a few years back for $5000 http://www.interweb.in/attachments/o...hair-45787.jpg it's pretty comfortable, but it doesn't worth $5000 to me that i am sure. |
My dad also has an Osim one similar to the one TRD posted. I think Osim is the premier brand to get in massage chairs. However, I think all massage chairs, no matter how good are not worth it. I'd rather spend money on a professional masseuse from time to time. |
well i've been reading up like crazy and it looks like Inada are the industry innovators (having invented the first one in the early 60s and constantly winning awards and prizes for innovation etc) but next step is to try one out, the Canadian distributor only has a place in Cranbrook, the rest are in Alberta -_- |
we got a panasonic one, bought years ago for my parents. cost around $3500 if i remember right. not cheap, but they have been wanting one for years, and i was making decent $$$ back then so why the hell not. |
yeah, they're pricier than i expected, good thing most of these places offer installments ^^ |
damn tats some balling massage chairs most of the massage chairs i tried over $1g is really uncomfortable, they get right into your bones |
My moms got a high end panasonic that she paid i think $5000 from the PNE.. Her and my uncle got $1000 off each. But this was like 3 years ago.. She honestly uses it maybe once or twice a month. My dad has a fairly nice one from like 10 years ago nothing like today but he barely uses it aswell.. All in all make sure your parents will actually use it.. Also the panasonic also massages your ass!!! Similar to TRDood pic but bigger and more comforting. |
