So who's going to the Olympics?

And what event? I wanted to go see the half-pipe event, heard Shaun White is competing.. I think its too late now to get tickets tho.

raygunpk 02-03-2010 06:59 PM

im going to hit up those free events for sure

chun 02-03-2010 07:00 PM

There's an Olympic thread on its fifth page discussing tickets + venues... was it really necessary to make another thread for this? :squint:

TOS'd 02-03-2010 07:01 PM

I'm not going to the Olympics. The Olympics are coming to me. :smokin:

this isnt dubai LOL

slammer111 02-04-2010 09:34 AM

^^ People will pay stupid amounts for hockey. I don't know why the gold medal one is so much. I'm going to a prelim and it sure doesn't cost $5000. Pretty much half the players on every team are from the NHL anyways. Same shiet, different pile.

Hitting up Snowboarding too on Cypress, and a couple of the lame Victory ceremonies if my buddy can't sell the tix. :D

Hondaracer 02-04-2010 09:40 AM

People pay because if Canada wins it will be arguabely the biggest sporting event in our countries history

saying this is just the NHL on a different day is retarded.

slammer111 02-04-2010 09:44 AM

^ But that's the point I'm making. You're paying a ton to *hope* Canada makes it (and I hope they do). Imagine you spent $5k and it turns out the game is Belarus vs. Sweden. Meanwhile you could've watched Canada play earlier on for like $400 or whatever.

Props to whoever's willing to fork over that much dough though.

Hondaracer 02-04-2010 10:06 AM

Well the two teams in the finals are going to be two great teams filled with stars regardless of Canada being there

but yea I'd your not that big of a hockey fan and the only reason why you bought was for Canada then yea it could be devistating

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-04-2010 10:08 AM

there were over 1000 ppl lining up for the stupid olympic ceremony opening ticket on seymour and richards

:rolleyes::rolleyes: go figure

slammer111 02-04-2010 11:12 AM

^ Nice to see you're hard at work as usual Mugen. :D

And yes, the Opening Ceremonies thing is retarded. Watching a bunch of volunteers dance around for 10 grand? :lol One can buy a 65" plasma, Hi-fi system and watch at home, food and drinks in, for less. I understand it's "once in a lifetime" (more like once in an eternity) but still..

invader 02-04-2010 11:13 AM

I was...untill Hockey House fucked me over and sold me tickets to a sold out event.

I can't tell what type of cheap you are yet.

Hondaracer 02-04-2010 11:48 AM

Opening ceremony can be had for face value

I sold a 4 pack of the best tickets I saw for sale period for only like 300 profit

slammer111 02-04-2010 11:48 AM

^^ Actually that's a good question. I'm not sure.. the cheap kind? :D

I admit though, I also don't like spending $$$ to go to concerts in general. (being shorter than 80% of the crowd doesn't help :lol)

imo most live events are way overrated.

q0192837465 02-04-2010 02:53 PM

I'm just gonna go to free events & watch the games on those big ass outdoor TVs
