What do you guys think about this laptop? Opinions please..

TypeRNammer 02-08-2010 06:59 AM

Base price seems attractive but once you start adding stuff to it, gets pretty pricey.

.Renn.Sport 02-08-2010 07:38 AM

4.5lbs is way too heavy

and its such a rip off in HK... they are asking for $13999 for it, even tho its optioned out. but buying from Dell USA for the exact same spec would cost around 8k HKD

Agreed, but you only really need to get the CPU upgrade from Dell. Everything else is cheaper to upgrade yourself.

The only issue is that it looks like a ricer.

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-08-2010 08:41 AM

looks pretty sleek and decent preformance.

i bet once u do some upgrades here and there, the lap will range $1500 +

twitchyzero 02-08-2010 08:45 AM

256SSD by itself will be like $400+ haha

no idea how much
but this sony is even better

http://www.sonystyle.com.hk/ss/produ...pcz117gg_e.jsp

13.1" with 1920x1080 LCD
Core i7 w/ 8GB ram
4x 64GB SSD running in RAID 0
GT330M
and only 3.1lbs!

AhXian 02-09-2010 09:34 PM

^ base model starts at 2k

.Renn.Sport 02-09-2010 09:58 PM

the specs are very impressive for the sony, I won't be surprised if that model is close to 3000 USD

true HD on a 13.1" screen, and 4x SSD in RAID 0, all in a package that weight 3.1 lbs
only thing missing is a bluray drive.

ddr 02-09-2010 10:31 PM

that processor just leaves way more to be desired for the price...

hopefully theres an option to upgrade the graphics, GT330M is mid-end at best, seems out of the place with the rest of the crazy specs

J____ 02-10-2010 12:22 AM

damn the case looks so cheap on that dell lol. but looks liek a wicked laptop

RC0310_EJ 02-10-2010 06:38 AM

I think the purpose of M11x is not to be the fastest, most powerful gaming laptop.. but one that is the size of a netbook, with Class 2 discreet videocard that has enough power to run most/all current games at high resolution with high (not max) details with good fps..

all this.. with an affordable price of under $1000..

I'm sure there are smaller, lighter, better looking laptops out there.. but pricewise.. for 11.6".. there's not much available in the market right now.

twitchyzero 02-10-2010 02:57 PM

do people really need to be gaming on a 11.6" screen on the go?

skyxx 02-10-2010 03:08 PM

^ Sure why not? I can play left4dead on the airplane. :lol

TekDragon 02-10-2010 04:13 PM

You can play Mass Effect 2 on it. 'nuff said.

hotong 06-03-2010 10:45 AM

I still use my M1210 to play games, you get used to the screen size.

Death2Theft 06-03-2010 08:06 PM

I'm getting this after e3 when the new version with I-core and optimus comes out.
