Sick pictures but bad parking job. And I wouldn't want to drive a matte white car in the rain, it must be a bitch to wash.

ch0pstix 02-14-2010 01:30 AM

should fix his parking

I am pretty sure $30 car wash is nothing to him.

Also its a 640 -.- 670 has the spoiler and it says SV on the side

Doesn't it have a matte clear, which makes it the same as a regular paint job?

ilvtofu 02-14-2010 08:58 AM

IMO they should work on the rear and make it look more aggressive, it just looks fat and nowhere near as awesome as the front

hk20000 02-14-2010 09:55 AM

I like how it's slightly off angle from the curb so you can take better pics of it.

ws6ta 02-14-2010 11:45 AM

pretty sure the car is wrapped with matte white film and its a 640 not a 670 sv. looks badass anyways!

lol, you can't put paint jobs or vinyl jobs like this through "$30 washes"

unless you wanna fck it all up, and yes the paint jobs are hella hard to clean, I've spent hundreds of dollars worth of specialty cleaning products for my car in the last year to keep it clean, and I suspect that Vinyl is even harder to maintain than an actual paint job.

reason is unlike clear coat gloss which is smooth to the touch, matte or even satin clears like in my case have these tiny pores you can feel with your fingertips when you touch the car.
Once dirt gets in these pores it's really really hard to clean, on a regular clear coat you just wipe it off or you can even claybar it.....

I tried clay barring my car once, and I ended up paying a detail shop over 2 bills to clean the mess up, I couldn't clean up all the wax from the clay bar out of the pores there was so much.

Sorry, you are wrong my buddy owns a matte black car and it just washes normally. The only difference you tell them to do @ a car wash is tell them to use the powerwasher at a lot lighter power or stand really far away.

But thats my buddy.

G-spec 02-15-2010 07:38 AM

^ yea ok I guess I'm wrong but it's cool though, cuz I know on forums what someone heard from a buddy's buddy counts more than someone's personal experience.

I've had to deal with this shit for over a year on a weekly basis.... And really, the power washer level is the ONLY difference ?
Well, just for starters I can tell you that you can't use 90% of the off the shelf car washes because right on the box they say that they are formulated to bring out the gloss, which means they contain waxy type of materials within, and you go ahead and try glossing up a matte finished car, I'd like to meet that genius

Tofu I have a bunch of specialty products I bought from detail shops or online that I use to degrease the dirt, cuz like I said above you can't use a lot of the store bought stuff, not even Dove degreasing soap works, and a lot of people use that to wash coats of wax off that shit is tough!
once you get anything waxy on the car, it's really hard to clean, the regular dirt and grime from the road is also a big problem.
I'm gonna go ask some people with vinyl jobs to see what they do, cuz there's gotta be an easier way, I'm having a really tough time with it

Mugen EvOlutioN 02-15-2010 10:25 AM

looks sick

Hmm, I asked my buddy again and he says its just same shit to wash...

Dtox89, May I ask after you have wrapped your car with vinyl... did you do anything different to wash it or is it the same?

Harvey Specter 02-15-2010 08:26 PM

From what I read on other forums, and I'll try to find the posts, matte white is hard to clean and you have to be extra careful when washing or detailing it. I'm only going by what I've read so if your friend is saying it's easy I guess it is easy.

hchang 02-15-2010 08:45 PM

Whoa, Renn.Sport get a new car?
