No, no I do not. I have an iPod Touch. It's great for music, but I find that I don't care about the apps all that much. I don't need 20 different versions of the same app.

I don't want hundreds of thousands of crappy applications. I'm happy with what BB developers have put out. All I want is to be able to install all the apps that I deem necessary (viigo, poynt, google maps, msm, gmail messenger, bb app world, bolt, food network, pod trapper, unsynced) and not have to choose which one to take off the list if I see another app that I want to install.

Perhaps someone else knows the answer to this: Does android or Windows Mobile handle app memory the same way blackberry does?

Get an HD2

BoneThug 02-21-2010 12:19 AM

I would LOVE the HD2 but its too damn big. The second you cannot use the phone one handed it becomes a shitty phone and a decent tablet. A good phone should be about efficiency and doing things quick and on the go. The size of the thing means that you either have to use two hands or constantly adjust while you use it. I know thats not a breaking point for some people who just want the latest and greatest (i dont mean you, SP) for me it takes it from a great phone to a great phone for someone else.

I also hate the two finger pinch for the iPhone. it makes sense on a laptop since you would use both hands anyway but all it is is a slower way to zoom on a phone. just double tap or use the zoom bar. way more efficient.

It's all personal preference really. I just went from winmo to iphone now back to winmo 6.5.5. Winmo 7 doesn't look as appealing.. no more multitasking, apps must be installed from an "Appstore", Default UI cannot be tweaked. But I guess these things might be hacked in by users at a later date.

Iceman_2K 02-21-2010 07:42 PM

i tried out the winmo phones at the Samsung pavilion, and the OS has pretty crappy response. I rebooted the phone, and then tried playing around with it - and it was still not as responsive as the Iphone.

Well you are using a beta version.

SkinnyPupp 02-22-2010 04:13 PM

Samsung's UIs are terrible. Luckily it's WinMo, so you can easily replace it with something else (you can even install an HTC UI)

More details about Win mo 7

Here's a prototype of Winmo7 with LG.

Microsoft's Aaron Woodman just pulled off a little surprise here at The Engadget Show: he brought out LG's Windows Phone 7 Series pre-production prototype! The QWERTY slider is the first branded Windows Phone 7 Series device the world's ever seen, and while the hardware and software are both obviously early, we can tell you a few things about it: it's just a hair thicker than an iPhone or Nexus One, there are dedicated hardware camera, volume, and power buttons in addition to the back, home, and search buttons dictated by Windows Phone 7 Series, and we noticed a five megapixel camera with a flash on the back, along with a headphone jack. Can't say much apart from that right now, since things are so early and everything is subject to change, but things are certainly moving along. It's all going down on the show right now -- see it on video after the break!

!MiKrofT 02-28-2010 07:35 PM

HD2 is supposed to have a WP7 upgrade as it meets all the hardware requirements.

The more I hear about Windows Phone 7, the more awesome it sounds. But I love my 6.5! Wish I could have it both ways :\

Agreed. What sucks is that I was hoping Android would blow the Iphone out of the water, but by the looks of the UI, it's nowhere near it. Unless someone can prove me wrong! (Please please please prove me wrong.) I'm also talking about the touchscreen itself as well.

Anyways! More info on the Windows 7 awesomeness. Look at the possibility of rending 3d games!

Here's a hint on which ones support the Winmo 7

That's a Samsung, Asus and a LG slider. Happy for all.
