Kam Do

Best restaurant in town?

I think so.

bcrdukes 02-15-2010 08:36 PM

Could you please explain why?

hchang 02-15-2010 09:02 PM

Well... I'll admit that they aren't very clean... but... their portions are massive for a small price, and taste better than most HK style Cafes I've been to. Their drinks are refillable, and their staff aren't rude like the ones at E Canteen, and Kingspark.

The only downside if parking on a weekend and Friday nights.
Does nobody else like this restaurant? LOL

nns 02-15-2010 09:12 PM

I'd rather have smaller portions, but cleaner facilities.

Alleluia has that, on top of free refills, tons of parking, cheap prices, and polite staff.

LanEvoVII 02-15-2010 09:20 PM

the proportions have become smaller imo
and food quality crappier...
not impressed the last time i went...not exaclt cheap either

hchang 02-15-2010 09:26 PM

Monday to Thursday they have their Afternoon teaset up until closing time.

It's basically 6.95 for a generous sized portion (usually enough to fill you up) and a drink that comes with free refills.

Ulic Qel-Droma 02-15-2010 09:27 PM

what, they serve giant portions for their price, but far from the best, unless by best you mean HK cafe type restaurant, and even then it's not the best lol.

bcrdukes 02-15-2010 09:29 PM

Kam Do has slowly gone down in terms of value and portions over the few years. I used to be a regular with my family for quite a few years but we saw the prices jump and the service, quality and portions of food diminish, albeit slowly. There are better HK cafes to be had; Alleluia for example in which the service is pretty good and refills are on the house.

The issue of parking is a real turn-off. Not only do you have a parking lot shared by other establishments within that block, you have to deal with crummy C-lai parking. Not cool in my books.

hchang 02-15-2010 09:31 PM

Alleliua only has free refills after 9pm or something right?

hotong 02-15-2010 10:14 PM

cctw 02-15-2010 10:32 PM

^alexandra road in richmond...right beside tuttimelon

keifun 02-15-2010 11:01 PM

If its in Richmond, then I rather head to Alleluia or Kingspark instead.

But most of the time I stay in Vancouver, then its Angel's cafe/ Honolulu.
