This is getting old, especially when you apply it to a lawnmower

Two stroke engine? You need to mix oil in the gas.

^ +1 what he said. You gotta add specific two-stroke motor oil into the gas, it's usually colored blue so you can tell if it's in the gas or not.

Dunno in the case of the lawn mower, but my car would have hard cold starts when I filled up with Chevron 10% Ethanol. With Shell no ethanol, it starts up fine.

Make sure it's the right stuff, you can't just pour in some Castrol GTX in there.

Okay, i checked the online manual. It is a 4 stroke engine and oil/gasoline mixture is not recommended.

does it have a manual choke? sometimes it helps start and doesn't send enough fuel to keep it running.

Er, he sounds like he's right on this. If you look
into specific details of E85 vs regular gasoline, your
looking at minor, yet significant diffences in power
output including both horsepower and torque. The all-new
smashing sport variant E85 Bentley exhibits variable
power outputs.

Additionally, it should be well known that E85 may perhaps corrode
engine parts and components, particularly more "enhanced" designs

A small amount of wet grass maybe enough to stall
the lawnmower engine because of decreased power or
simply because the E85 simply buggered your engine.
The latter reason is highly unlikely.

10% Ethanol is not E85..

E85 = 85% Ethanol.. we only have 3 stations in Canada that carries E85

10% Ethanol would be E10...

Way different than than E85... which is 85% ethanol.

does your lawn mower have its own oil reservoir? check if theres oil in there
and if your cutting wet grass, it can cause to stall, but right before it stalls tilt the lawn mower up so it doesnt
