Then you should be leaving enough space between you and the car ahead of you, just in case something like that happens.

I'm worried drivers will start to rely on technology too much, making them worse drivers overall.

I dunno how did you pass the driving test but I never get myself into such situation in the first place. I mean don't you leave enough space in front of you before you do a quick shoulder check?

how about a technology to ban the driver after certain dangerous attempt with the car..... lol
