anyone watch the first eps, or any UC Gundam fans here?

It'd good to finally see them put more effort on something of this caliber and from the UC timeline. :thumbsup:

now, if they animated Crossbone G or G Sentinel...

agreed tho the older ones were good I just like the newer style animation

Agreed GW is the best one by far, gundam X was alright too though

I thought Seed was okay.
Destiny to me was a bit of a futile attempt to keep the franchise going...got a little repetitive to be entirely honest.

Before I watch this series, can someone tell me if any of the following are apart of this new Gundam franchise:

-kids who fight in wars, giving orders to adults
-some weirdo wearing a mask all the time
-Earth vs. Colonies
-some sort of BS about ideals, peace, rights, and love

Honestly, I'm getting pretty tired of seeing skinny, scrawny kids who are like 12 years old fighthing in wars, babbling on about right vs wrong like they possess majors and doctorates in philosophy and history.

I need some realism. I want a huge Batou-looking dude piloting a Gundam, who smokes and gets in fights, and is an alcoholic.

Gundam needs some growing up. Is this Gundam Unicorn it?

Gundam Wing was by far the gayest with Gundam Seed only falling behind because it's a copy of that bullshit that was Gundam Wing.

In the original UC series, the Gundam pilots were just the best at what they do...like fighter pilots that were awesome in WWI and WWII. In GW and such, they are fucking gods and can kill millions with their pinkie. Char and Amuro were awesome but they were still somewhat human in their skills.

As stupid as this sounds when it comes to talking about a series about giant robot suits, I enjoy the realism of the old series better than the new pretty boy bullshit designed for girls.

You heard me...if you like Gundam Wing, good game because you just fell for some bullshit Bandai created to attract GIRLS to the Gundam Universe.

Gundam went downhill fast after Turn A.

It might look ugly, but Turn A was actually one of the better series.

Stardust Memory, War in the Pocket and 08MS is where it's at.

just watched the first episode. all i can say is that it can only get better from here, it had all the elements to make it a great gundam series.

holy shit. just saw the first episode. I'm happy the character animation and music is back to old school style. I'm so confused as to who is on which side and what the hell is going on though...

  1. Clingy / competitive girl "friend"
  2. Girl from the opposite side that the lead character falls for
  3. Kids with parents abandonment issues.
  4. 21st century physics defying materials

The peace and love thing is hilarious.. I mean Gundam always use force to achieve peace.

damn apparently they won't release episode 2 until autumn... i never knew they released these OVAs in theatres in japan haha

anyway that gonna take a freaking long time to finish 6 episodes. at this rate its gonna take 3 years to finish this OVA

better finish my MG unicorn hahah

It is because I enjoy, or enjoyed in the past, watching the series. However, far too many of the same themes are rehashed over and over again.

And come on, kids talking about ideals? What the hell does a kid know? How naive do they think they are to lecture us about the world? How naive are the writers?

You know, I realize some of you guys can just shut off parts of your brain and enjoy the show for whatever it is, and that's great, but I can't anymore. After watching 3 Gundam series', these things start to become too glaringly obvious to ignore for me. The completely ludicrous thing is I seem to be apart of the minority.

I know anime writers can produce quality shows. Just look at Ghost in the Shell.

The girl/daddy issue/material things were good in the original series, but even then those were managable.

Once the teens got involved, it's like Gundam 90210.

If you are looking for those, you might as well watch Macross, it's theme is "song, fighter jets, and love triangle" for EVERY SERIES.
