you got it wrong dude, i was there last friday night, its $14-15 dollar a pound (the one in richmond). I find my dining experience was more pleasant at kirin than SSW, food and service wise that is...actually the overall interior design as well

I had no idea you lose so much from gutting. I bought a 12 pounder from Lobster Man on Granville Island and had them cut it up for me... the parts I took home weighed about 7 pounds.

rawr 03-24-2010 08:57 PM

would it be possible that they charge u the price of a 12 pounder but instead give u a 7 pounder? O_O

!LittleDragon 03-24-2010 08:58 PM

Nah, I saw them chop it up in front of me. It's not like they can really do a switcharoo, they don't keep many on hand and they're usually spoken for.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-25-2010 04:11 PM

the guts weighs 5 pounds? lol

how much did lobster man charged you

!LittleDragon 03-25-2010 09:35 PM

It was a few weeks ago, I think it was around $15/pound. BBQ'd some, garlic steamed some and deep fried some..

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-26-2010 07:25 AM

but thats nearly as much as a restaurant would charge:(

!LittleDragon 03-26-2010 10:10 AM

It is... but have you ever had BBQ'd king crab?

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-26-2010 10:37 AM

nope, sounds promising tho lol

hamsup 03-31-2010 08:04 AM

is 15 bucks per lbs the norm ??? any recommendations... i want the restaurant to be able to seat around 15 people ! ! !

Gumby 03-31-2010 09:04 AM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think king crab season is winding down already... the ones you'll find now are small!

WHEYsted 04-01-2010 08:31 PM

^ Nope. Went to SSW last week and they had plenty of HUGE ones.
